Position Summary:
The copywriter will be responsible for producing engaging, clear copy for all Marlins advertising channels, web, print, in-game and social. Their duties include helping to create and ideate marketing copy for digital, print and social, radio and tv scripts, ideate content for social media, and translate English copy and campaigns to work for a Spanish speaking audience. The ideal candidate is familiar with the South Florida audience and is able to create relevant content to drive engagement for all Miami Marlins initiatives.
Essential Functions:
• Create thoughtful, personalized, and brand-relevant copy and content.
• Write strong, motivating content, including social media, printed materials, TV, radio, e-mails, and other content, within the brand's style and tone.
• Work collaboratively with Creative Services and Marketing teams to concept and implement compelling brand stories.
• Clearly and confidently present work to internal teams and clients.
• Revise, edit, and proofread content as needed.
• Respond to feedback in a timely manner.
• Work closely with video team on video concepts including writing scripts and advising on locations, actors and VO
• Check copy for spelling and grammar errors.
• Translate English copy to Spanish
• Explore different ideas and concepts for both visual and verbal elements in tandem with the creative team.
• Work closely with designers, videographers, and social media team to complete campaigns.
Qualifications
& Requirements:
• Bilingual in English and Spanish
• Experience producing copy for print and digital media channels
• Proven success in producing copy for advertising or marketing campaigns
• Exceptional skill in social media writing, including use of hashtags and relevant acronyms
• Proficiency with common office software
• Creativity, adaptability and the ability to work collaboratively with a team
Suggested Education & Experience Guidelines:
• A minimum of 2 years' experience at a creative or media agency, or in-house, as a copy or content writer.
• A bachelor's in journalism, communications, marketing or a related field.
• Portfolio of strong, professional writing for both long and short form content.
• Passion for both high-level strategy and hands-on writing.
