Position Summary:
Accountable for defining, building and embedding the functional capability of analytics throughout the organization. This role will require working primarily with the Strategy, Marketing, Sales, Retail and Finance teams to inform strategies using fact-based methodologies designed to maximize revenue in the Miami market. You will assist in furthering the Marlins' ability to develop and to deliver world class strategic initiatives in the Miami market.
Essential Functions:
• You will help to develop the application of analytics throughout the organization.
• Develop automated data visualizations that can be shared across the organization.
• Design market research studies of external and in-market dynamics to execute comprehensive analyses of trends, to develop actionable insights and to implement performance benchmarks.
• Conduct in-depth analyses across all lines of business to provide guidance on optimal inventory management and insights into historical/emerging demand trends.
• Assist in optimizing current strategies to increase traditional demand and inform strategies to attract new customer segments.
• Forecast incremental sales lifts tied to individual strategic initiatives and in measuring the impact of offers on demand.
• Assess long term category / brand value growth potential and develop benchmarks to measure relative performance trends.
• Work with the strategy and sales management teams to flesh out insights on the role of price and different promotional strategies in shaping consumer demand.
• Understand price tiers and trade up/trade down behavior – to identify potential opportunities and risks.
Qualifications
& Requirements:
• Strength in Microsoft Excel, data mining (SQL), and in advanced analytical tools (SAS, R, Python, etc.).
• Experience with developing automated data visualizations (i.e. Tableau) and web scraping (Python).
• 2-3 years experience. Experience in sporting/concert/live entertainment industry a plus.
• Experience in pricing analysis – (i.e. in Retail, CPG or indirectly through insight providers)
• Understanding of, and preferably experience with, original pricing research techniques including elasticity, market structure creation, conjoint analysis, and similar techniques.
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate across multiple teams.
• Strong interpersonal experience and proven ability to convert strategies into actionable business plans.
• In depth experience working with large/complex datasets.
Suggested Education & Experience Guidelines:
• Bachelor's Degree in a quantitative field; Master's (i.e. Statistics) or a MBA strongly preferred
