Mission: Responsible for managing the creation of content for broadcast, web, mobile and social channels. This position will work closely with internal and external resources in the creation of all video assets from concept development, pre-production, production, editorial and distribution.
Position Requirements
Education/Experience:
- Must have experience producing children's content and/or short-form web content.
- Minimum 5 years of network, studio, or production company experience.
- Four year degree required.
- The ideal candidate has 5+ years of experience in a fast-paced deadline-driven environment.
Skills/Knowledge/Ability:
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment with minimal supervision.
- Creative thinker, collaborator and problem solver.
- Proven ability to develop and produce award-winning video for mobile, broadcast and social platforms.
- Proven ability to manage large projects and assemble multi-disciplined teams.
- Detail oriented and excellent organizational skills a must.
- Excellent editorial collaboration skills, embracing diverse styles and points of view.
- Effective oral and written communication skills critical to communicating editorial vision to partners.
- Comfortable keeping track of expenditures and managing budgets.
- Strong interpersonal relations and problem solving skills.
- Ability to consistently display a professional demeanor and stay calm under pressure.
- Creative problem solver that has the ability to build the right team specific to the job.
- Basic knowledge of a variety of animation styles and live action production a plus.
- Understanding of Adobe Creative Suite, Final Cut Pro, Avid, and motion graphics software capabilities a plus.
Key Result Areas and Activities:
1. Project Management
Meet with internal teams to discuss and identify their video needs.
Work with other producers to plan shoots that meets the client's brief and budget.
Present concepts and budget to the client.
Function as the link between the internal client and external vendors by maintaining regular contact with both, ensuring that communication flows effectively and negotiating details of projects as needed.
Present creative work to key stakeholders for approval or modification.
Drive the completion of project goals and facilitate communications, organization, and accountability across all departments. Can we take this one out? - it's just confusing and somewhat stating the obvious. Or perhaps it just needs drastic re-wording.
Lead development and communications of day-to-day tasks and scheduling.
Identify and communicate roadblocks and bottlenecks that may prevent the team from achieving their goals.
Motivate and support team to ensure project goals, objectives, milestones, and deliverables are achieved.
Help make informed decisions in conjunction with team leads on work methods, development pipeline, priorities, and available resources.
2. Pre and Post Production
Be the point person and lead video producer for all MGA brands.
Work closely with key stakeholders, Marketing teams, Creative teams (internal and external), and Production companies in finding the best solution to the content needs.
Manage day-to-day pre-production, production and post-production activities (such as concept/content review, maintaining production schedules, planning pre-pro meetings, doing on-set tasks if needed, routing cuts and consolidating team notes).
Strong understanding of Final Cut, Premiere, Avid, and motion graphics software capabilities.
Creative problem solver that has the ability to build the right team specific to the job using key industry contacts and network of experienced professionals.
3. Budget Management
Provide consultation and guidance on best practices and cost efficiencies for content needs for various distribution platforms.
Leverage all possible resources (internal and external) in order to find efficiencies and bring projects in budget and deliver them on-time.
Work closely with Finance, Legal, and outside vendors in developing bids, negotiating contracts, hiring freelancers and oversee entire production.
