OVERVIEW OF ROLE:
The VP, Human Resources serves as a business partner working closely with the General Manager of EPIX and the EVP, Human Resources of MGM, performing generalist duties in support of EPIX. This position provides integral guidance and support in all functional areas of Human Resources with a strong emphasis on compliance, employee relations, staffing, benefits and day to day operations.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Build and sustain partnerships with EPIX business leaders and employees to improve individual and team performance
• Implement and administer policies, practices, and programs that support the business in a wide range of areas (i.e. leadership, talent development, retention, benefits, compensation, staffing, employee relations, organizational effectiveness and diversity)
• Work closely with business leaders across all departments on annual performance management and merit processes
• Lead recruitment process, including on-boarding, candidate sourcing, interviewing, and networking to identify strong candidates for both open and future roles in a busy, highly creative & technical client group
• Manage the Sr. HR Coordinator on the following:
• Maintenance of complete and compliant job files for every approved requisition
• New hire requisition process complying with EPIX & MGM process guidelines
• Management of all temporary staffing needs for EPIX and facilitation of payroll process
• Facilitation of new hire on-boarding process complying with EPIX & MGM process guidelines
• Maintenance of employee files and other HR record-keeping systems, i.e., I-9 forms
• Support HR projects and programs, including but not limited to annual compensation, benefits processes, summer intern program, and new program & event development, implementation, and coordination
• Assist employees with employment and benefit-related inquiries & issues; directing employees to vendor resources as appropriate and/or escalating to MGM Executive Director, Benefits as appropriate
SKILL REQUIREMENTS, EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:
• 8 - 10 years of experience working in a Human Resources Department in a generalist capacity
• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources management or related discipline
• Strong knowledge of Human Resources principles and practices
• Must be a motivated self-starter with the ability to work independently as well as take direction
• Superior verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Strong computer and/or technical skills
• Familiarity with HR systems, Benefits and Compensation related programs
• Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize work
• Proven ability to multi-task and successfully problem solve
