MGM is seeking an experienced Travel Manager to join its team. The Travel Manager will be responsible for managing and developing the company's corporate travel program, and serve as the primary point of contact, both internally and externally, for all matters relating to corporate travel. Additionally, this person will assist in maintaining and enforcing the company's corporate travel policy, working closely with the company's travel management company (TMC) to monitor travel activities and ensure policy compliance, and reporting.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the corporate travel program, and monitor day-to-day corporate travel activities
- Maintain and monitor the company's travel policy, and recommend strategies to improve compliance
- Be the primary point of contact for all questions related to travel policy and procedure
- Work closely with the company's travel management company to ensure service levels are maintained and company policies are being enforced
- Manage supplier relationships and contracts with airlines, hotels, car service providers, etc.
- Negotiate contracts and discounted rates with travel suppliers
- Drive continuous improvement of the travel program by identifying areas for improvement, and seeking out cost savings opportunities for the company
- Provide travel reports to management, or other areas of the business, as requested
- Provide travel systems support and training as needed
- Ensure data capture for reporting and to assist with reconciliation of the corporate travel card
Qualifications
- 5-7 years of experience working in corporate travel, in a similar role
- Experience monitoring and enforcing corporate travel policy
- Experience working with and managing services provided by a travel management company
- Experience negotiating contracts and corporate discounts with travel vendors
- Excellent communication skills, verbal and written
- Ability to work effectively and comfortably with people at all levels of an organization
- Knowledge and experience with travel reporting, including benchmarking and performance monitoring metrics
- Self-motivated, dedicated and self-directed, with ability to manage work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong analytical skills, detail oriented, with demonstrated ability to work with large amounts of data
- Reliable, and willing to be available off-hours, as needed -- typically by email
- Experience using Concur Travel and Expense is a plus
- Proficient in Excel, Word and PowerPoint
