Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Studios Inc. ("MGM") is seeking a Statement Analyst in its Participations department to prepare participations statements for titles that have been in active distribution more than three years. The Statement Analyst will also provide support for the department's internal compliance and audit processes while using the company's SAP general ledger program and proprietary systems on a daily basis.
- Responsibilities:
• Review draft participation statements for accuracy
• Create gross receipts and/or expense adjustments, interest schedules, and other manual calculations involved in participation reporting
• Reconcile reported activity against the company's general ledger and research discrepancies
• Validate the accuracy of reported transactions against source documents (e.g., invoices, television license agreements, etc.)
• Validate the accuracy of statement mailing packages, tax withholding calculations, and payment requisitions
• Support month-end close diligence by validating selected transactions against source documents (e.g., invoices, television license agreements, etc.) and research discrepancies
• Provide support for the audit team in the reconciliation and research process
• Support the maintenance of databases and systems involved in library reporting
Requirements:
• B.S. or B.A. required with an emphasis in accounting, economics, or finance preferred
• Prior internship or work experience in an accounting, finance, or participations department preferred
• Excellent listening skills and attention to detail
• Proficiency with Excel or computer programming experience
• Strong analytical, communications, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to multitask and take initiative in following through on projects
