EPIX, an MGM Company, is seeking a Senior Cloud Network Engineer with Cloud Architecture experience to provide senior level LAN/WAN support as well as work on upcoming cloud first initiatives across the company. This role will support the enterprise-networking infrastructure across MGM's diverse environment and also plan, design, implement new initiatives. The successful candidate will be a self-starter who exceeds with minimal supervision and works well with all areas of corporate management.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Creating a consistent and advanced network infrastructure, responsible for the enterprise and delivery of media centric content and data internally and externally.
• Design, develop and implement for hybrid cloud environments.
• Manage all network components including routers, switches, WAN optimizers, firewalls, wireless devices and VPN and authentication services.
• Provide support for Juniper switches, Cisco Routers, and all other network related products.
• Work with groups of subject matter experts to maintain network security.
• Perform network capacity planning, monitoring, reconfiguring and tuning of network hardware.
• Evaluate network hardware/software to ensure they are up to date.
• Ensure data/media recoverability by implementing a schedule of system backups and database archive operations.
• Analyze and document network operation processes and procedures.
• Ensure compliance with Company policies and procedures.
• Serve as Level 2 escalation for Help Desk to resolve network issues.
• Provide second level support for VoIP connectivity issues and manage accounts.
• Analyze and execute off-hours changes to address service outages and scheduled upgrades.
• Plan and implement various infrastructure projects and supervise consultants.
• Prepare detailed network specifications, including diagrams, equipment configurations, and recommended technologies.
• Perform troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
• Monitor maintenance and outages, assess the impact and develop strategies to minimize the impact.
• Monitor applications and services within the environments, take actions to resolve issues and implement strategies to prevent future occurrences.
• Design, implement and execute Backup and Recovery and Business Continuity processes for cloud initiatives.
SKILL REQUIREMENTS, EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:
• 5 years of hands on Network Integration & Support experience
• 5 years of IT infrastructure development experience including IAAS, PAAS, SAAS platforms
• Hands on experience working in cloud compute technologies, network monitoring, and performance (Azure, GCP, Oracle Cloud, VMWare on EC2) is a must
• Ability to analyze the cloud infrastructure needs of the Company's product units and transversal functions.
• Proven AWS experience especially in the following services (VPC, EC2, IAM, CloudFormation, S3, Route53, Security)
• Seasoned networking experience including Juniper, Arista, Cisco, and Aruba platforms.
• Strong IP & Network Infrastructure design, implementation & support skills
• Skilled systems security background
• Strong understanding of Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, LDAP
• Experience working with fault tolerant, highly available, high traffic/throughput, distributed, scalable systems
• In-depth knowledge of holistic network security fundamentals, methodologies, including but not limited to ACLs, next-gen, deep packet inspection firewalls, IPS/IDS functionality, and VPNs.
• Experience managing environments having implementations of Database, Middleware, Web Services, Bus and Gateway technology
• Scripting experience especially in bash and python.
• Experience deploying and managing Kubernetes cluster deployments preferably within AWS
• Experience supporting Node and Angular application deployments
• Experience managing deployments of any of the following: Docker, Terraform, Prometheus, Ansible, SALT, ELK stack, Splunk, Github, Jenkins, Atlassian Suite
• Excellent organizational, verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent Teamwork and strong documentation skills
• Media and Entertainment experience a plus
• Media Editing Workflows and Digital Supply Chain experience a plus
