OVERVIEW
OF ROLE:
The Network Engineer
will manage and support the network infrastructure for EPIX whose headquarters
is located in New York. Responsibilities will include planning, designing,
implementing and maintaining the network hardware and software which includes
enterprise switches, routers, wireless and VoIP systems. The successful candidate will work with team
members to maintain network stability, high availability and lead and/or
participate on various projects on new initiatives.
PRINCIPAL
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Manage all
network components including routers, switches, WAN optimizers, firewalls,
wireless devices and VPN and authentication services
• Provide
first level support for Juniper switches, Cisco Routers, and all other network
related products
• Organize and
lead upgrade projects for network
• Partner with
vendor to manage firewall/IDS to ensure network security
• Perform
network capacity planning, monitoring, reconfiguring and tuning of network
hardware
• Evaluate
network hardware/software to ensure they are up to date
• Oversee
current network configuration backups
• Maintain
system code/firmware up to date
• Ensure
data/media recoverability by implementing a schedule of system backups and
database archive operations
• Manage
two-factor authentication
• Analyze and
document network operation processes and procedures
• Ensure
compliance with Company policies and procedures
• Serve as
Level 2 escalation for Help Desk to resolve network issues
• Provide
second level support for VoIP connectivity issues and manage accounts
• Analyze and
execute off-hours changes to address service outages and scheduled upgrades
• Create
accurate and detailed network documentation including diagrams and procedures
• Support
on-boarding and off-boarding process
• Plan and
implement various infrastructure projects and supervise consultants
SKILL
REQUIREMENTS, EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:
• Minimum experience
required:
o 5 years
working for an enterprise environment with 100 employees
o 3 years
hands on experience working with Juniper Switches and Aruba wireless network
o 3 years
managing projects and consultants
o 1 years
hands on experience working with Cisco VPN, DNS, WINS, DHCP, HP Proliant and
Dell PowerEdge servers
• Possesses
in-depth knowledge to independently troubleshoot Cisco Routers, Juniper switches,
Riverbed, Aruba Controllers, Aruba Access Points, Aruba Clearpass, and MPLS
network
• Possesses
in-depth knowledge of inter-networking concepts topologies, communications
protocols (TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, Ethernet, VRRP and other network protocols)
• Good organizational
and communication skills; customer service-oriented
• Available to
participate in on-call rotation
• Experience
with the following preferred:
o Aruba
Clearpass and Palo Alto firewall
o DELL/EMC
Isilon and NetApp NAS storage
o Microsoft
SCCM is a plus
o Setting up
QoS in Juniper hardware
o Junos Space
Platform / Network Director
o Solarwinds
NPM and NTA
o Disaster
Recovery and Enterprise Network Design
