EPIX, an MGM company, is looking for a Director of Production Management who will serve as the Creative Services point person on promotional and marketing materials for the EPIX programming slate (originals, movies, brand assets). They will serve as a conduit to other departments before, during and after content creation as well as liaise with the creative team and agencies to ensure a smooth workflow and communication process are established and upheld. The candidate must have prior experience working on original scripted / unscripted series, and be detail oriented with excellent organizational, multi-tasking, professionalism, and communication skills.
Responsibilities:
• Work closely with VP of Production Management to create, implement, and regularly update the CS Production Bible of guidelines and best practices for producers, editors, and agencies
• Identify opportunities & provide recommendations for improvements to Creative Services workflow / processes as remote work needs & network capabilities evolve
• Develop network-wide tentpole campaign roll-out plans and present to the VP, Production Management and SVP, Creative
• Collaborate with peers in consumer, partner, & social/ digital marketing, publicity, and on-air scheduling to align benchmarks and execute original series campaigns that account for network-wide needs
• Partner with internal & external producers to oversee all aspects of Production Management for promotional assets developed by the Creative Services team, including full campaigns (teases, launch promos, BTS pieces, episodic promos, etc) and one-offs (movie spots, image spots, stunts, etc)
• Work closely with VP of Production Management to plan for high profile original series photo and EPK shoots
• Oversee Production Manager and Production Coordinator managing original series campaigns and linear network spots for EPIX, EPIX Drive-In, and ScreenPix
• Work closely with Creative Directors to assign projects and manage workload of in-house A/V team
• Recommend, hire and negotiate fees with creative agencies. Work with Creative Directors to assign, oversee and review production work to ensure projects meet their assigned budget and are delivered on time
• Lead regular cross-departmental meetings to provide status updates on promotional materials in development, delivery & air dates, gather information on needs and adjust accordingly
Basic Qualifications:
• College degree or equivalent relevant experience
• 10 years of experience in TV/entertainment industry (preferably at a cable network in Creative Services dept)
• Experience working with original, scripted & unscripted series
• Thorough understanding of production management and operational procedures
• Working knowledge of asset management tools (Iconik, Box), metadata systems (IBMS)
• Outstanding Production Management skills
Preferred Qualifications:
• Ability to maintain excellent relationships with staff, internal clients and external business partners
• Awareness of major production applications, including Premiere, Avid, Final Cut Pro and AfterEffects
• Exceptional written and oral communication skills
• Strong leadership capabilities; ability to manage, prioritize, motivate, and collaborate
• Solid management and organizational skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced and constantly changing environment
