Director, Contract Administration & Operations - Worldwide TV Distribution
Responsibilities:
• Partner with department leadership to drive continuous systems improvement and user support
• Work closely with IT, Sales, Contracts, Accounting, Finance, and Delivery Services
• Identify and document business requirements, project plans, testing, training, defining support procedures, and supporting systems implementation
• Responsible for systems operational support for Worldwide TV Distribution
• Function as the business functional leader for IT during system implementation and roll-out
• Deal Management -- validate and proof system data entry of deal memo and change orders for Broadcast TV, Pay TV, and Basic Cable, as well as digital media including SVOD, FVOD/AVOD, EST, VOD and PPV
• Streamline business processes for accuracy and efficiency
• Recommend technology solutions
• Drive systems solutions for MGM's Output Deal Management
• Cross check, validate, and proof Output Deal Trackers
• Verify and confirm availability lists, windowing product, clearing product, categorizing product, formally notifying product per the terms of license agreements, and calculating license fees
• Systems Management - IPM / STARS / MicroStrategy / Alerting Database / Essbase
• Enhancements
• Monthly meetings with IT on fixes and enhancement suggestions
• Primary tester for enhancements and bug fixes
• Train new users on systems
• Work with IT to troubleshoot errors
• Liaise between Sales and IT regarding issues and changes with the system
• Future Updates and Enhancements
• Deal Memo / Change Order upgrades
• Deal Management Automated workflow
• Deal Memo summary templates
• Availability Reports / Materials status
• Release Schedule Management System
• Sales Reports
• Output Trackers -- develop automated solution
• Film Sales Tracker -- develop automated solution
• Security
• Approve all new users and review security quarterly
• New Systems
• Serve as functional lead in future project management to identify systems replacement of existing TV Distribution platform
• Involved in the research, development, and testing of new systems
• Essbase
• Review output trackers against source data to ensure accuracy
• Reconcile Essbase with IPM
• Output Tracker Review weekly / biweekly audit
• Review product that must flow through deal (currents, TV series, library) against contractual terms
• Proofing
• Weekly Deal Management, Deal Memos, and Change Orders -- Domestic & International
• Format and Film Sales Deals
• Work with Business Affairs and C team on any contract issues
• Research of contractual language
• Pulling files for auditors and answering any questions
• Quarterly SOX controls
• Quarterly Close procedures
• Meet with team members to ensure deal memo and change order finalization is done in a timely fashion
• Run reports to ensure all deals have been entered correctly and finalized
• Reporting, including Quarterly Extension Report, Monthly TBA Reports and ad-hoc reporting
• Production deal management and event processing
• Update cash basis and production revenue in IPM and send report to Sales / TV Planning
• Research digital contract file storage options
• Document business processes
• Audit/Compliance
Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree required
• Strong MS Office Suite skills, particularly in PowerPoint and Excel (pivot tables, charts, etc.)
• Office 365 skills a plus
• Knowledge of contractual legal requirements
• Contract administration experience in Global TV distribution
• Reporting and analysis of operational metrics, preferably in a contract environment
• Familiarity with accounting procedures
• Keen attention to detail with ability to spot errors
• Ability to influence and lead others without direct reporting relationships
• Very strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to interact effectively with all levels of management
• Confident presenter in formal and informal settings
• Ability to multi-task, deal with ambiguity, and manage changing priorities
• Ability to craft solutions that balance broader business needs with timely deliverables
