We are seeking an experienced Sr. Show Estimator to be a part of the Exhibitions Division of Meow Wolf.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating and implementing project and bid strategies. You will do so by analyzing project proposals and historical cost data and accurately calculating the total costs associated with a project. Ultimately, your work will help us develop new business opportunities.
Responsible for evaluating the cost to produce and procure the show sets and scenic elements as envisioned by our creative teams and assist the project teams as needed with necessary information. The Sr. Show Estimator is responsible for estimating all show elements Divisions of Work (DOWs) including, but not limited to, show sets, theatrical and character lighting, animated figures/props, graphics, A/V systems, show control systems, themed character facades, rockwork, etc.
Responsibilities
Provide detailed estimates in a timely manner working from architectural and show set drawings, specifications, shop drawings or elevation take-offs and creative concept artwork.
Work with in-house production management to create production estimates for our fabrication team including in-house labor estimates for various departments.
Follow up on completed estimates and provide feedback to project teams and department heads on intent behind the data as required.
Monitor actual vs. estimated costs and work with leadership to adjust standards accordingly.
Maintain detailed and organized records of bid documents, correspondence and other project-specific information
Collect cost estimates and bid proposals from collaborators and vendors to compile data for project team reviews and decision making. Evaluate change order requests from vendors/contractors and negotiate pricing before issuing a directive or change order.
Prepare estimates for outside artist collaborators to work with Meow Wolf in order to create a comprehensive estimate and scope of work of all the work required to execute the collaborator's vision.
Assist project finance to set up budgets and track actuals versus estimates.
Builds an estimating database from historical and other cost data for reference when establishing and verifying new cost estimates.

Essential Skills and Abilities
Organized, self-starter with the ability to handle numerous projects, phones, prioritize workload & work with minimal supervision
Must be able to communicate effectively & maintain professional conduct; excellent written & verbal communication skills
Need to have good working knowledge of fabrication and installation in order to have good understanding project needs
Required Qualifications
Minimum of 10 years prior experience in themed entertainment or similar industry experience in estimating projects.
Experience working with themed entertainment production companies and/or major themed entertainment industry developers working in markets across North America.
Ability to read, interpret, & understand architectural and show set drawings, and specifications to provide detailed take-offs and estimates that incorporate different building solutions
Experience using computer software estimating programs to prepare estimates.
Bonus Points
Autocad/Revit experience and skillset a plus
