Mayo Performing Arts Center, a 1300-seat nonprofit performing arts center in Morristown, NJ seeks a Marketing Assistant to serve as support for its busy Marketing Department.
This is a great opportunity for an enthusiastic self-starter with a passion for the arts and excellent organizational and communication skills.
As an essential member of the Marketing team, you will assist with outreach and communication to support sales, audience development and marketing efforts around shows, programs, and MPAC's institutional mission.
Specific responsibilities include:
Communication and Marketing
• Create and deploy email blasts
• Conduct target audience research and create specialized outreach plans
• Prepare and analyze audience surveys
• Publish event listings on online calendars
• Assists with show press releases
• Maintain departmental communications calendar
• Assist with Wordpress website updates
• Manage inventory of marketing materials
• Assist with advertising creative needs
• Track and measure effectiveness of marketing initiatives including email and direct mail
Community Engagement and Outreach
• Work closely with Community Engagement department on audience development and outreach initiatives
• Coordinate street team volunteers to regularly distribute posters and materials in Morristown and surrounding communities
• Promote outreach to students including student discount program
• Presence at occasional weekend and evening events
• Key liaison with our community organizations/partners
Responsibilities will include other duties as required by the department.
Desired Qualifications:
• 1 - 2 years related work experience.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications. (Outlook, Word, Excel)
• Excellent communication, project management and organizational skills
• Proficient with website and email management systems (Wordpress preferred)
• Basic graphic design skills (Adobe Creative Suite)
• Ability to work on select weekday evenings and weekends required.
• Experience in CRM systems, i.e. Tessitura, is a plus but not required
