Maximum Films & Management is currently looking for a motivated, detail-oriented intern for Fall, 2018 (September - December) with good people and communication skills, nice phone manner, and solid reading/writing/coverage abilities, to work 2 days a week, most likely on Mondays and Wednesdays from 10:00am until about 6:30/7:00pm. Exact start date flexible. Travel stipend provided.
Interns to fulfill the following duties:
• Read books and write coverage/synopses, in MFM's format, on a weekly basis (typically 1 book per weekend).
• Assist in answering phones, keeping phone log & updating/maintaining contacts and calendar, handling incoming and outgoing correspondence/mail for company, and helping maintain extensive Filemaker database of books, tracking grids for various clients, tracking management client submissions and assist in tracking book material for weekly reports.
• Research authors/books as needed, create a daily Trades Round-up of news and deals, scour magazines and publications for potential articles for adaptation and client-requested research.
• Research articles for potential film/TV adaptation.
• Run occasional errands or messenger runs, when required.
• Must be proficient on Dell/PC computers, somewhat experienced in using Windows OS & Microsoft Office/Word/Excel/Outlook/AOL IM. Experience with Filemaker is a plus but we will train you on how to use our custom Filemaker Database as well.
About the Company:
Maximum Films & Management is primarily a literary consulting/scouting company which serves as the New York based literary scout for LA and London-based studios, feature film production, and TV production companies. Our offices are located in Midtown West.
