Job Summary:
Marvel New Media exists to amplify all that Marvel is and to evolve it into all else it can be. Today that consists of three revenue-generating segments in digital advertising, subscriptions and new media productions and portfolio of direct-to-consumer marketing services to support the rest of Marvel lines of business (studios, TV/animation, games, licensing, publishing, etc.)
Inside the subscriptions segment is Marvel Unlimited (MU), the award winning digital comics subscription service providing instant access to over 27,000 Marvel comics including Spider-Man, The Avengers, Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, X-Men, Captain Marvel, Black Panther, Deadpool and much more. We are looking for a Senior Manager of Content and Organic Marketing to help lead MU into its next phase of growth.
Responsibilities:
Candidate will
• Work with VP of Marketing to define marketing strategy and oversee marketing efforts across campaigns.
• Develop marketing campaigns across owned and paid marketing channels plus experiential and out-of-home of-home for Marvel Unlimited, including but not limited to the general platform features, new and existing comic series, breadth of the comic library, and tie-ins with other lines of Marvel businesses.
• Oversee marketing plan creation by working closely with internal teams to align with overall strategy, meet goals for specific platforms and channels, and set appropriate timelines for campaign development.
• Build innovative strategies to reach target audience deliberately and strategically.
• Partner closely with design team, agencies and 3rd party partners to develop compelling direct to consumer creative that drives acquisition and consumer retention on platform. This includes the facilitation and generation of creative briefs, delivery specifications, and management of creative review process for all campaign materials in conjunction with key stakeholder, legal and brand team approvals.
• Lead execution on marketing programs targeted to specific consumer segments then understand and analyze marketing effectiveness of campaigns in order to adjust plans for future performance
• Lead marketing partnerships and events, as well as the execution of brand marketing stunts as necessary
• Work with affiliate and platform partners to launch and maintain ongoing marketing efforts
Basic Qualifications:
• Passionate about leading change in a rapidly evolving industry and has experience/knowledge of media/publishing industry
• Experience developing compelling content marketing creative across online, digital video and TV space and has executed ground-breaking campaigns that meet key success.
• Excellent creative thinking, writing and presentation skills, with a demonstrated track record of running a successful marketing operation.
• Relationship oriented with strong interpersonal skills. Comfortable with a variety of colleagues from senior leadership to junior contributors and an ability to work effectively across departments to drive for results.
• Results-oriented, proactive and a highly responsive individual with excellent written, verbal, and communication skills.
• Ability to prioritize, manage several projects at once and work under pressure.
• Entrepreneurial mindset, proactive thinker ability to thrive in a sometimes ambiguous, fast-paced environment.
• A fan of Marvel is a plus.
• A rockstar with no ego. You give credit to others where credit is due and take responsibility for misses when they rest with you.
