Internship Opportunity to work with Comedy Producer Andy Engel. He is the Director of New Talent at Gotham Comedy Club. He is also the founder/owner of Manhattan Comedy School, whose faculty members are all successful national headliners with credits that include Colbert, HBO, Comedy Central and Letterman.
Andy is also the talent scout for the NextVR show, which is currently in production at Gotham Comedy Club. He also co-founded with a former intern a new comedy-tech startup, ComedyWire. (https://comedywire.com/) Andy has been a comedy producer in New York City for over 20 years.
This internship is perfect for anyone interested in entertainment, comedy, stand-up comedy, improv, and comedy writing. The internship entails administrative assistant work, such as emailing, filing, promotions and marketing etc. Hours are flexible. No salary but plenty of perks, including: free shows at Gotham Comedy Club where you will meet working pros,networking with comedians/comedy writers, stage time at Gotham, first access to casting opportunities, and discounted comedy classes.Not only will you get opportunities to go on auditions, you will have the opportunity to book talent at Gotham.You will get to be on both sides of the casting process which is invaluable information.
Skills needed: Great social media ability, fast typist, familiarity with Outlook and Excel,promoting, marketing, and video editing with Premiere is helpful. Comedy knowledge is a plus but not necessary. Long and short-term positions are available.
