Full Time Unpaid Internship
MLBPAA Internship
Headquartered in Colorado Springs, Colo., the Major League Baseball Players Alumni Association (MLBPAA) is a non-profit, 501 (c)(3) organization in its 36th year of promoting the game of baseball, raising money for local charities and serving the unique needs of former players.
The Major League Baseball Players Alumni Association (MLBPAA) is seeking an organized, self-motivated, team oriented individual to assist all facets of the organization, including but not limited to the following: day-to-day operations, communications/public relations, event management, fundraising, membership development, budgeting, and memorabilia sales/marketing. This internship will provide a well-rounded experience for students interested in non-profit sports management and administration. Interns may receive college credit; as this is an unpaid position. Interns are required to secure their own housing and transportation if relocating from out of the area. This position is a full-time, 40-hours a week internship and may require up to 15 hours a week to be spent at the warehouse. A small stipend will be provided.

Responsibilities
• Assist with the execution of league-wide awards program – Heart and Hustle Award; including but not limited to coordination with MLB team representatives, current and former players, scheduling, communicating logistics and follow-up duties
• Assist with Legends for Youth Clinic Series and Alumni Day Series through management of RSVP's, promotional materials and event logistics
• Potential travel for stadium auctions depending on schedule must demonstrate attention to detail, strong organization skills and excellent customer service to reach expected sales goals (up to three trips max.)
• Provide logistical support for our annual Legends for Youth Dinner in New York Assist with the management and organization of inventory
• Manage shipping and tracking systems for multiple different programs
• Research and execute new member benefits for the Membership Department
• Support the Marketing Assistant develop and execute a successful day of giving fundraiser
• Recruitment of new members - to include monthly follow-up calls to lapsed members, etc.
• Contribute to Intern Insider blog on a weekly basis
• Assist the Communications department with national campaigns and social media monitoring
• Provide meeting and logistical support for Board of Director Meetings
Breakdown of Duties
• 25% - Customer service by email and phone to former MLB players and other constituents
• 20% - Event management support
• 15% - Recruitment and fundraising efforts
• 15% - Support the Communications department
• 15% - Inventory management, organization and shipping
• 5% - Travel
• 5% - Other duties as assigned
