Social Media/Publicity Coordinator
Job Description: The Social Media/Publicity Coordinator supports marketing initiatives through the development of social community management. This individual provides strategic guidance on new media, social analytics and technology and acts as the lead on all social marketing initiatives. Candidate should be a creative, detail-oriented, multi-tasker who actively stays ahead of industry trends contributing to the success of Magnolia Pictures in all social environments. In addition to your role in social media you will assist the VP of Publicity with awards campaigns and various other publicity related activities. You will have the opportunity to work at various Hollywood red carpet movie premieres with film talent and will assist with press days with members of the national media attending.
Responsibilities
Create engaging content for new release and archive title Facebook pages, Instagram handles and Twitter handles. Please include a link to a portfolio of your creative work.
Keen understanding of business and marketing objectives and strong ability to articulate those into meaningful social experiences across Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and Snapchat.
Oversee every aspect of community management from editorial planning to executio and reporting.
Actively shape and define understanding of social platforms as a strategic contributor to the relationship with fans and potential marketing extension
Able to immediately respond to any and all requests without heavy reliance on external team members
Basic Qualifications
Minimum of 1-3 years experience in film marketing and/or publicity
Minimum of 1+ years experience in community management or social media marketing.
Must be skilled in Adobe Photoshop/Illustrator with a strong understanding of text/image design concepts. Familiarity with video editing software (Adobe Premiere, Final Cut Pro, Adobe After Effects) is strongly recommended. Must have a good handle on Facebook/Twitter/Instagram platforms.
Excellent writing skills with the ability to translate traditional marketing content into engaging and socially-relevant conversations.
Highly organized, analytical, and articulate with a thorough understanding of social media analysis, performance and reporting
Passionate about independent film, new technology, industry trends, and media
Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
Strong knowledge of social media tools and platforms required
