MagicSnow is a Los Angeles based special effects and entertainment production company, known for creating large-scale snow effects, snow scenes and fully produced winter themed events. MagicSnow creates snowfall effects, real snow, and special effects spectaculars for a variety of entertainment productions around the world. We are currently seeking a part time freelance Theatrical Technician for a seasonal project.
The Theatrical Technician will assist with the installation and strike of MagicSnow projects. During show runs, the Theatrical Technician is responsible for the daily upkeep and operation of the MagicSnow Show. This is a temporary position starting October through the end of the holiday season.
The Theatrical Technician position is physically demanding and requires climbing ladders and carrying full 5 gallon buckets (50 lbs). Experienced theatrical technicians are preferred.
All COVID-19 Safety Precautions will be followed.
Essential Functions
- Assist with installation and strike of theatrical equipment
- Operate snow show and maintain overall integrity of the show
- Troubleshoot technical issues and make repairs
- Attend to daily refills of snow equipment
- Complete daily show reporting. Identify and report possible safety concerns
- Maintain, clean, and organized equipment and work spaces
- Other tasks and responsibilities may be added at the Company's discretion
Qualifications
- Must be reliable, organized, and punctual. Must have strong communication skills
- Will need to carry ladders and five-gallon pails (50 lbs) of snow fluid
- Will utilize portable ladders and roof access ladders to access equipment located on rooftops. Will also hoist full five-gallon pails (50 lbs) to rooftops
- Must be available to work a varied and flexible schedule, including weekends, nights and holidays.
- Reliable transportation, working cell phone, and passport
- Must be professional in dress, speech, and manners
- Fluency in Spanish is a plus and could lead to travel opportunities.
Salary will begin at $18.50 - 21.00/hour.
