This is a Part Time Job
Lucy Stille Literary is a literary management company representing the work of journalists and authors in the film and television area. Through relationships with publishing agents, we identify intellectual property that we think have the potential to be the basis for film and television programs. We come up with a strategy for each piece of IP, interface with the film and television community, and in success, negotiate the deals with the producers and/or financier.
The job of the assistant includes:
- Logging in all the material that comes in for consideration
- Making all submissions to producers, managers, studios, streamers, etc.
- Logging those submissions and the responses to them
- Maintaining a contract spread sheet
- Creating a deal memo for every project that gets set up
- Invoicing for all monies due
- Scheduling calls and meetings for Lucy Stille
- Scheduling calls for clients with potential buyers
- Putting announcements in Publisher's Marketplace
- Logging in all expenses
- Working with the APA agency on past deals for LSL clients
Hours: 2 to 3 hours a day with no set hours. The work can be done at the asst's convenience.
The job requires someone who is very detail oriented and has excellent computer skills. While the list above is highly clerical, and assistants are not required to do any reading or coverage, they are welcome to read any material that is submitted and to discuss the material with Lucy. Assistants are exposed to a variety of players in the Hollywood system (executives, producers, lawyers, managers) and can build a network of phone relationships, given the pandemic. The job gives the assistant the ability to understand how different material is pitched to the marketplace and how the marketplace responds. For anyone interested in producing or becoming a development executive, this will be a good training ground.
