Full Time Job
We are looking for a highly capable Field Equipment Assistant for our Technical Field Operations Department. This position is for the in-house equipment room. Working as a prep tech, and coordinator of all in-house equipment.
In this role you will work within the TFO department, prepping, purchasing, organizing, and maintaining cameras, lensing, lighting, and all other tangible aspects of production, reporting directly to the Technical Field Operations Director and supporting the Technical Field Operations Coordinator as needed.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Learn Camera systems and workflows to better understand what is needed for a smooth production run.
- Assist in-camera builds, prep, and shipping/delivery for shows to ensure all gear is properly put together and up to date on all specifications.
- Troubleshoot gear and equipment issues with field teams, including walking them through how to use the gear they are not familiar with.
- Assist in gear list creation and maintenance, making sure lists are up to date for field teams.
- Assist Loading Gear into and out of the office. Check and test gear to ensure good working order.
- Maintain and clean returning gear making sure all firmware is up to date.
- Coordinating gear with external vendors going in for repair.
- Make FedEx Labels for all gear, scheduling pickups and drop-offs as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Ideal candidates should have great organizational skills, keeping track of multiple items at once. We are looking for someone who is ready to learn, grow, and work within the department as a crucial part of the filmmaking process.
- Candidates should be able to multitask, have an eye on multiple moving targets, get tasks done efficiently, and not be afraid to ask for help. We are looking for someone who is punctual, attentive, and takes care in the work they do. It requires problem-solving, being extremely detail-oriented, and working, at times, under tight deadlines and fast turnarounds.
- Prior knowledge of some or all of the following systems is preferred:
(Sony, Red, Panasonic, Canon, Fujinon, Sachtler, Zeiss, Go Pro, Sennheiser, Lectrosonic, Teradek, etc.)
- Prior experience in the film industry, and onset is not required but a plus.
- Candidate must have knowledge of the google suite, as well as proficiency in excel as this is where we keep track of field teams and gear.
- As assigned this position also offers the possibility of experience in the field in desired roles such as Camera PA, Assistant Camera, Sound Mixer, Or Camera Operator.
Education and Experience:
- An associate's or bachelor's degree.
- Minimum 1-2 years experience required.?
