Full Time Unpaid Internship
Job Summary:
The Lucasfilm Visual Effects department is a very small unit with strategic oversight of all visual effects work on the Star Wars franchise, including all of the motion pictures, theme park experiences, commercial tie-ins, etc. As part of the physical production team, the VFX department works with Producers and Directors to budget, plan and staff for their projects and then oversees production handled by the individual teams assigned at Industrial Light & Magic.
Responsibilities:
The VFX Intern will primarily take direction from the VFX Associate Production Manager and will handle a variety of administrative, research, special projects and various tasks related to VFX Production (including scheduling and status tracking duties) on any of the projects under the VFX Umbrella described above. The VFX Intern may have dedicated time on a particular project or may help as needed across the breadth of projects in production.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively interact with diverse personalities.
• Strong time management skills with the ability to multi-task
• Ability to problem solve and shift priorities quickly in response to changing circumstances.
• Excellent organizational and follow through skills.
• Proven ability to work autonomously and in team settings with a positive, pro-active attitude.
• Technical competence on PC platform and Mac with an understanding in Microsoft Word, Excel and GoogleMail
• A general understanding of the film and VFX process, with a desire to work in the industry.
Required Education
Bachelor's Degree in film, art, theater, communications or related field, preferred.
Additional Information:
• Must be enrolled in a college/university taking at least one class in the semester/quarter (spring/fall) to participate in the internship program OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Professional Internship
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Must not have completed one year of continual employment on a Disney internship or program.
• Must possess unrestricted work authorization
• Must provide full work availability
• Must provide own housing and transportation to/from work. Position is located in San Francisco, CA
• Current Active Disney cast members must meet Professional Internship transfer guidelines (for Walt Disney World cast members this is no more than four points and one reprimand in the last six months; for Disneyland cast members this is six months of consecutive service and a performance record clear of any disciplinary issues (warnings, suspensions, etc.) for at least six months)
• Unrestricted work authorization.
