Job Summary:
ILMxLAB, Lucasfilm's Immersive Entertainment division, is looking for a DevOps Engineer to join our team in San Francisco.
Responsibilities:
As a DevOps Engineer, you will develop, integrate, and maintain core systems that customize the Unreal engine and deploy it for use on several Lucasfilm projects. Your diverse job duties would include the following:
• Help design and implement a modern continuous build, release and deployment infrastructure for one of the most well-known brands in the world.
• Solve problems like how to effectively manage dependencies across various frameworks and projects while maintaining reproducible and portable environments across multiple locations across the globe.
• Streamline the merging of new Unreal versions into internal forks customized by Lucasfilm engineers.
• Generalize our pipeline for use across a wide range of platforms.
• Build tools to optimize content and engineering workflows, as well as automating the optimization of dense 3D assets in a content pipeline.
• Work with the global delivery teams across Lucasfilm and The Walt Disney Company
Preferred Qualifications:
Required Skills / Competencies:
• Passion for DevOps including but not limited to build, release, deployment, and system infrastructure
• Passion for VR and AR.
• Flexibility to handle a variety of tasks.
• Solid knowledge of Python.
• Experience administering Jenkins or an equivalent CI system.
• Self-motivated individual with excellent problem-solving skills.
• Ability to quickly learn and then implement new techniques.
Preferred Skills
/ Competencies:
• Experience in the Unreal codebase.
• Experience with Git or Perforce.
• Experience with the Steam SDK.
• Platform experience on mobile, consoles, Linux, or high-end PC.
• Experience with C
• Experience programming for VR along with 3D math skills (linear algebra, vector math).
Required Education
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field.
