Job Summary:
The Lucasfilm Desktop Systems Specialist performs various IT duties related to operational support and projects for all aspects of the Lucasfilm business. If you have mid-level Mac and MS Windows desktop support experience, exceptional communication and collaboration skills, along with an aptitude for working in a fast-paced production environment, this may be the role for you!
Responsibilities:
• Provide support to end user requests for equipment, new software and changes to their existing configurations.
• Setup and upgrade computer systems in a networked environment with minimum end user interruption.
• Take on day to day break/fix end user requests from initial contact to problem resolution.
• Research and recommend hardware and software solutions, as needed.
• Investigate and resolve malfunctioning software in a Mac and Windows environment.
• Properly integrate devices such as printers, networks, scanners, and digitizing tablets with Microsoft Windows & Macintosh systems.
• Troubleshoot and repair, or arrange for repair, of defective computer equipment.
• Communicate status of issues and projects that are in progress to all parties concerned on a timely basis.
• Document and communicate system support issues with end users, IT staff, and management.
• Plan, develop, and maintain individual project schedules.
• Participate in other physical IT tasks such general cleanup, system retirement and organization.
• Assist in management of inventory.
• Must be available during work and non-work hours including being 'on-call' when scheduled.
Basic Qualifications:
• 3-5 years of desktop support experience, ideally in a Feature Production environment.
• Mid-level skills in Windows 7 (or greater) and Apple OSX, including understanding networking / OS configuration and functionality.
• 1-2 years Google application suite support and troubleshooting experience.
• Demonstrated experience supporting executives and key creative staff.
• Demonstrated passion and interest around technology, including keeping up to date with industry trends.
• Outstanding customer support skills.
• Able to communicate in a professional and friendly manner with co-workers and end users.
• Self-starter, energetic, strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize workload without daily oversight, effectively, triaging and prioritizing your time, based on production needs.
• Demonstrated approach to teamwork and collaboration when solving issues.
• Detailed-oriented and be able to handle a variety of tasks in an efficient manner.
• Must be able to lift 50lbs.
