Part Time Paid Internship
Position Summary: The HR intern provides a variety of clerical, coordination, and administrative activities in support of the Human Resources department, including the areas of onboarding, file maintenance, performance management, and recruitment. This position continually looks for opportunities to take initiative and improve the HR department. It is also responsible for all employee data entry into ADP.
Essential Functions (Duties & Responsibilities**):
• Research and stay up to day with all emerging HR tech trends (especially within ADP), continually looking for opportunities to optimize processes
• Onboard all new employees according to onboarding process developed by Director, HR
• Leverage ADP platform to upload all new employee information electronically
• Collect all electronic and physical resumes sent to Lakers organization
• Respond to each resume in a timely manner, and file after responding
• Process all new hire background checks, using most appropriate, timely process
• Ensure all employees sign new HR policies and file in appropriate employee folder
• File all other necessary paperwork
• Assist with other special project and tasks, as needed and assigned by Director, HR
• Assist HR Director with performance management, training & development, recruitment and compensation recommendations
**Responsibilities subject to change based on organizational needs and direction from management.
Education/ Certification:
• Currently obtaining Bachelor's or Master's degree in related field
Previous experience:
• A minimum of 6 months experience working within HR
Technology:
• Experience with HRIS software such as ADP
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite with strong Excel skills
Knowledge, skills, abilities:
• Familiarity with federal and state labor law regulations, minimum wage, etc.
• Analytical – ability to run HR related reports
• Outstanding interpersonal skills with a passion for people
• Presents self in professional manner and has the demonstrated ability to interact with all levels of organization and outside contacts
• Ability to maintain the highest level of confidentiality
• Ability to work in fast-paced environment
• Excellent communication skills including written and verbal; ability to present ideas clearly and concisely
• Strong organizational skills
• Excels at multi-tasking, planning and organizing, can prioritize work activities; uses time efficiently
• Detail Oriented
• Adaptability – adapts to change in the work environment, manages competing demands and is able to handle frequent changes
• Dependability – consistently at work on time, follows instructions, responds to manager's instruction
Physical Demands: N/ALocation: El Segundo (offices M-F), and other occasional off-site events, as neededTravel: N/AHours: Regular office hours (9am- 5:30pm M-F), plus overtime is mandatory; must be available to work evenings, weekends and holidays
