Position Summary: The South Bay Lakers Ticket Sales and Marketing Director/Manager will oversee the day-to-day activities of the Ticket Sales Account Executives, while managing sales and activation elements for: (1) larger, more complex group sales; (2) Season Ticket Members. This position is also tasked with developing creative marketing campaigns to sell individual South Bay Lakers tickets, including leveraging community events and developing the South Bay fan base.
Key metrics used to evaluate performance:
• Total gross South Bay Lakers ticket sales
• Number of tickets sold to each game
• Growth of Season Ticket Members (STMs)
• Group sales rates
• Fan experience survey feedback
Essential Functions (Duties & Responsibilities):
• Manage and oversee day-to-day operations of Ticket Sales Account Executives
• Schedule weekly sales meetings
• Write sales scripts and develop training materials
• Train Account Executives on sales techniques over the phone (e.g. cold calling)
• Accompany Account Executives at sales meetings, as needed
• Assist in group sales meetings with Account Executives
• Design all proposals for group sales packages
• Manage Fan Experience Tracker and update inventory as it's sold
• Monitor total ticket sales for each home game, and adjust sales strategy and focus accordingly
• Handle sales and maintain relationship with larger, more complex group clients
• Develop and implement a marketing plan to drive awareness of the South Bay Lakers. Oversee all marketing efforts
• Design and create all sales flyers
• Brainstorm new sales ideas
• Collaborate with the Director of Service and Retentions to grow the membership base
• Develop robust STM package
• Plan and execute all community marketing events with Account Executives and Strand Crew
• South Bay Lakers Game Day Operations
• Overseeing all activation elements for groups
• Sign waivers for all group activities
• Lead sales tables
• Create fan surveys and track results, sharing relevant insights with management
• Interacting with game attendees and represent the South Bay Lakers
**Responsibilities subject to change based on organizational needs and direction from management.
Education:
Bachelor's degree (required)
Previous experience:
• A minimum of five (5) years of sports sales experience
• A minimum one to two (1-2) years of experience managing a team
• A minimum one to two years of experience in marketing or brand management
Technology Capabilities:
• Microsoft Office (including Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint & Windows)
• Ticketmaster Archtics, and other related ticketing platforms
• InDesign and/or Adobe Creative Suite (for flyer and form creation)
• LinkedIn (and other lead generation tools)
Knowledge, skills, abilities:
• A passion for Los Angeles sports and developing talent
• Ability to meet tight deadlines and work well under pressure
• Strong analytical capabilities and experience with creating/tracking budgets and sales goals
• Trustworthy and a proven track record handling money
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; excellent presentation skills
• Excellent client relationship management skills with the ability to quickly build rapport with customers, assess customer needs, and deliver suburb customer service
• Strong organizational skills, time management skills and attention to detail
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks/projects
• Ability to work independently without supervision, be self-directed and demonstrate initiative
• Ability to take direction without managerial follow-up
Physical Demands: Must be able to lift a min of 50lbs. and walk significant distances on game days
Location: El Segundo
Travel: N/A
Hours: Regular office hours (9am- 5:30pm M-F), plus overtime is mandatory; must be available to work evenings, weekends and holidays to attend games, and complete deadlines/projects, as needed
