Job Title: Digital Analyst
Department: Business Analytics & Strategy
Reports to: Director, Business Analytics & Strategy
Manages: None
Position Summary:
The Digital Analyst will work strategically to support digital initiatives, including analysis and data visualization. You will provide data and reporting to inform decision-making on a variety of digital platforms including but not limited to social, mobile, web, and email. This position will work closely with the Digital Marketing department in support of growing the engagement and efficacy of the Lakers digital platforms.
Essential Functions:
• Create and refresh dynamic daily, weekly, monthly, and annual tracking of various digital platform metrics including unique visitors, monthly visitors, video views, social media account followings/engagement, app downloads, and subscriber churn.
• Maintenance of pre/post game social media performance reports including content performance, social listening, campaign monitoring, and sentiment analysis across all digital platforms
• Provide analytics support for key metrics related to social media post efficiency (e.g. performance by content type, time to post, relevancy by platform)
• Manage content tagging requirements and campaign tracking parameters across digital channels
• Collect, clean, and analyze social sentiment data as it relates to mentions of the Lakers across social channels
• Provide benchmarking results in support of digital performance across team, league, and sponsorship categories
• Exploratory analysis of new data sources to assess data quality and relevancy in business decision making
• Support digital marketing team with data as requested
**Responsibilities subject to change based on organizational needs and direction from management.
Education:
• Bachelor's Degree required, preferably in marketing, statistics, information systems, computer science, or a related field.
Mandatory Technology Capabilities:
• At least two (2) years of digital analytics & campaign reporting experience
• Experience with digital analytics platforms Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics, Netbase, Crimson Hexagon, Crowdtangle, and/or Simply Measured as well as native social analytics platforms on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube, and Twitch
• Experience with a BI/Visual Analytics Tool (Tableau)
• Experience with a SQL/database toolset (SQL Server, MySQL)
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
• Capable of managing and prioritizing a variety of unexpected tasks while continuing to successfully conduct day-to-day operations without interruption
• Display strong initiative and self-motivation
• Possess strong technical, analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, urgent project environment
• Able to simultaneously manage multiple projects, effectively prioritize workload, and own deliverables from start to finish.
• Familiarity working with large data sets and relational tables
• Ability to articulate complex business findings into easy to understand concepts
• Creative mindset with an ability to identify ways to leverage existing assets for new business.
