Hello, My name is Tyler Johnson and I am working as an assistant producer to create The Los Angeles Film and Reel Club's first feature film, ''Seeking Justice''. We are looking for talent crew members to contribute to this project, please review what positions we are searching for what the film is geared towards.
The Los Angeles Film and Reel Club was founded in October 2016 and has made over 20 films including a web series. The purpose of the club is to help all of its members gain experience, build their reel, and boost their IMDb, so short films are created solely for that in mind. However, this year the club is embarking on its most ambitious project yet. We not only want to do all of those things, we want this feature film to be the launching pad of everyone's career. The goal is to make as much profit as possible as well as win multiple awards at festivals. We are hoping for theatrical release (where there is no profit ceiling), but will look into streaming distribution as well. In order to achieve this lofty goal, we need a power team. So let's tell you about our film and what we're looking for.
Seeking Justice is a mystery/thriller film meant to appeal to every demographic, but with a specific focus on the vein of Gen Z. It is meant to appeal to the female audience through important topics such as mental health, practical ways to deal with trauma, female empowerment, and a lot of emotional catharsis through Noah and Charlotte's love story. It is meant to appeal to the male audience with powerful action scenes based on the ruthless nature and gore of Game of Thrones. There is a scene that gives a nod to the award-winning fight between Oberyn and The Mountain as well as an unexpected death that is so sudden it will leave the audience gutted. However, there is a character for everyone to relate to. There is the underdog rebel who fought her way up, only to feel used. There is the decadently complex queen bee who flips the switch between cruel and kind. There is the boss queen who climbed her way to the top but still kept her humanity. There is the badass misanthrope female lead which is taking over Netflix. There is the normal, problem solving Joe. But there is still the archetypal girl and guy next door, who pull you in with their vulnerability. There is the frat bro and preppy girl that somehow everybody knows in real life and are thriving in their own world. There is tackling the difficult and deeply emotional topic of child loss and death of a loved one. There is addressing the issue that men should be allowed to feel and express powerful emotions including grief. Basically, this film was written to be positioned to be a cash cow, have mass appeal, and win awards.
As with all Los Angeles Film and Reel Club productions, this is a no budget film. Which doesn't mean no money will be spent, but only money that is absolutely necessary to get the film made.
Here is the exciting news! We are looking for people for all positions both above the line and below the line. This is the full list of what we are seeking:
1. Sound (please include equipment list, resume, and reel)
2. Editor (please include reels, resume, program used, and editing rig)
3. Director (female HIGHLY preferred because of strong women empowerment themes; please include reels and resume)
4. Gaffer (please include reels and resume)
5. Special Effects (in person not digital please include examples of past work and resume)

We will have 11 shoot days in October including Mondays and Wednesdays as rest days. As well as 2 days reserved at the end for pickup shots should we need them. Each day will be a 12 hour shoot day with 30 minutes out for lunch. As most of the scenes take place in the forest, there should be minimal setup and tear down times. You do not have to be there every single film day, as the percentage of profit you will get is based off your total film days. Bagels in the morning and crafty through the day will be provided as well as a full hot catered lunch at the 6 hour mark.
I will need a couple people interested in being an Assistant or Associate Producer (depending on involvement level will determine your credit) to help with pre-production as we ramp up for production.
If interested, please send your previous work experience, reels, and dates available in October to the email listed - for technical positions please include your gear list. If you have any questions feel free to reach out as well!
Thank you and hope to work with you soon!
