Full Time Job
The Director of Marketing will lead the Marketing team in strategic and tactical execution of all marketing activities for the LA Clippers; including but not limited to: brand marketing, digital marketing, email marketing, demand generation, lead generation, and project management.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
• Develop and execute annual marketing plans that integrate key areas of the business including Ticket Sales and Service, Merchandise, Digital, Sponsorship, Game Presentation, and Community Relations,
• Work with the Ticket Sales team to develop lead generation and revenue opportunities supporting ticket sales, season ticket memberships, and retention programs.
• Lead paid media strategy, ensuring proper segmentation and channel placement.
• Lead digital agency relationship, handling digital ad buys, SEM, retargeting, and paid social.
• Review and optimize performance of all campaigns to maximize conversions, revenue and ROI.
• Own email marketing strategy, email marketing calendar and development of content.
• Provide brand stewardship and deliver brand vision, mission, goals and strategies
• Translate brand strategies into brand plans, brand positioning and go-to-market strategies
• Impact the business and bottom line by using brand engagement to drive membership renewal
• Establish and champion brand story across all marketing, creative, and digital campaigns
• Craft and lead marketing and brand campaigns, including: ticket on-sale launch, jersey launch and more
• Measure and report performance of all campaigns, and assess against goals and benchmarks
• Lead marketing and advertising activities to ensure consistency with strategy
• Provide hands-on tactical leadership to marketing team
• Establish project management process to better coordinate between marketing, creative and sales departments
• Work closely with other departments to establish and drive demand generation and lead generation programs.
• Improve brand awareness within the digital space, and drive website traffic and acquire leads/customers.
Characteristics / Qualifications
• 7 years of experience required, preferably in sports
• Significant experience in brand management
• Understanding of the ticket sales cycle and ticket demand
• Experience directing digital marketing and demand generation programs
• Bachelor's degree required
• Detailed-oriented with ability to oversee projects from origin through execution
• Willingness to learn and should be able to flourish in a high growth, dynamic, entrepreneurial environment
• Effective communication skills, both oral and written
• Self-starter, entrepreneurial with hands-on approach towards business
