Los Angeles Angels Minor League Strength & Conditioning Coach
The Los Angeles Angels Player Development Department is seeking passionate individuals to join our team. As a Minor League Strength & Conditioning Coach, you will be fully immersed in our department, collaborating with coordinators, front office executives, members of other departments, and performing impactful work. Your work will be dynamic, challenging, and you will be given the opportunity and resources to learn, grow, and develop over the course of your coaching career. In addition to handling the essential functions of being a strength & conditioning coach, we desire proactive thinkers who will take initiative and explore ideas that improve organizational processes. Applicants can come from any discipline or background that apply to human performance.
Examples of essential responsibilities:
• Implement organizational strength and conditioning philosophy.
• Contribute to high-performance model, including physical training, data collection, and educating players.
• Create, organize, and execute daily strength & conditioning plans based on organizational philosophies, while coordinating schedules and other day-to-day operational duties with members of field staff.
• Heavy involvement in nutrition and athletic training aspects of player development.
• Communicate simple & actionable takeaways tailored to the individual.
• Collaborate across departments, including (but not limited to): Video, Quantitative Analysis, Sports Science, Athletic Training, Mental Conditioning.
• Proactively identify areas that make organizational impact.
You Should Have:
• NSCA – CSCS Certification.
• CPR/AED/First Aid Certification.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and shared document platforms (Google Drive).
• Humility & care for others to be a great teammate.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Strong work ethic & discipline with an attention to detail.
• Willingness to work with individuals from a variety of linguistic, cultural, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
• Growth mindset with an interest in the latest trends and research in human performance.
Experience and skills that are not required but considered plus:
• RSCC or RSCC Eligible.
• Knowledge of statistical computation software (Advanced Excel, R).
• Basic biomechanical understanding of sprinting, hitting, and throwing.
• Previous experience working with track and field athletes.
• Ability to speak, read, and write with fluency in Spanish.
• Examples of past research or analysis (in any relevant discipline).
Physical Demands
• Ability to stand and/or walk for extended periods of time
• Ability to bend and stoop frequently
• Ability to lift and carry up to 100 pounds
• Ability to be extremely active for periods of 4-5 hours at a time
• Ability to work in inclement weather
• Ability to work on uneven ground
