PURPOSE
Reporting to the Marketing Manager, the Social Media & Digital Marketing Manager will develop a broad spectrum of marketing, sales, and fan engagement initiatives as they relate to Angels Baseball and Angels Radio AM830. This will encompass the strategy, execution and activation of marketing campaigns through social media and digital marketing.
Success in this role requires excellent project management skills, an aptitude for developing insight-driven strategies, defining campaign goals, compelling content and a passion for continuous improvement.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Act as the outward voice of Angels Baseball on all social media platforms
• Drive brand awareness and grow demand for Angels Baseball and AM830 through content marketing, mobile applications, and social media across multiple platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Snapchat, LinkedIn, etc.)
• Maximize engagement by using digital marketing tools and analytics to provide reports and recommendations that demonstrate a current and competitive position in-market as the social media/digital landscape evolve
• Manage the social media inventory calendar for Major League Baseball, Angels Baseball and AM830 by collaborating with various departments to ensure proper support and that messaging is on-brand, shareable and consistent across all digital platforms
• Curate social media content that creatively delivers team news and covers games and events such as Angels promotional events, radio remotes and player appearances
• Monitor social media fan inquiries and keep track of influencers that could be used to extend brand reach
• Formulate email communications by compiling copy points and graphics for sales, marketing, and community
• Make creative and strategic decisions by reviewing all work for factual or grammatical errors
• Schedule digital stadium entry boards and Big A halo creative on a daily basis
• Develop a proactive approach and follow-through with project deadlines to maximize results
REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, or a related field required
• 3-5 years' experience in social media marketing, preferably sports, entertainment, or lifestyle brands
• Knowledge of and demonstrated skills in the operation of PC/Macintosh computer programs including Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office, publishing/editing software, typography and illustration techniques required
• Demonstrated ability to build, execute and scale social media campaigns
• Advanced decision-making skills with proven ability to influence direction and align teams
• Ability to collaborate with internal stakeholders and external partners
• Thinks strategically, but stays on top of tactical execution
• Extreme attention to detail with relentlessly high standards
• Exceptional verbal and written skills
• Occasionally travel to alternate work sites
• Exercises sound logic and positively represents the organization to the public
