The Los Angeles Angels Player Development Department is seeking passionate individuals to join our team. As our Rehab Coordinator, you will be fully immersed in our department, collaborating with our athletic training staff, front office executives, members of other departments, and performing impactful work. Your work will be dynamic, challenging, and you will be given the opportunity and resources to learn, grow, and develop over the course of your career. In addition to handling the essential functions of the position, we desire proactive thinkers who will take initiative and explore ideas that improve organizational processes. Applicants can come from any discipline or background that apply to Sports Medicine.
Examples of essential responsibilities:
• Work in conjunction with the head physical therapist to develop treatment plans for acute, chronic, and post-surgical athletes.
• Evaluate athletes using a holistic approach in an effort to identify and eradicate deficiencies throughout the body.
• Provide long-term progression calendars to the Head ATC, MDs, front office, and field staff.
• Coordinate with the rehabilitation coach and strength & conditioning coach on a daily schedule for treatment, therapeutic exercise, weight training and field activity.
• Coordinate with team physicians to set up athlete imaging, follow up appointments and at home PT when appropriate.
• Provide a transitional plan in conjunction with affiliate ATCs for athletes returning from rehabilitation.
• Maintain an accurate daily log of treatments, therapeutic exercise, and future progressions.
• Establish a positive culture where athletes remain engaged in the rehabilitation process.
You Should Have:
• Physical Therapist eligible for licensure in Arizona, dual credentialed PT/ATC preferred.
• Experience with post-surgical rehabilitation.
• Humility and care for others to be a great teammate.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Strong work ethic and discipline with an attention to detail.
• Willingness to work with individuals from a variety of linguistic, cultural, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
• Growth mindset with an interest in the latest trends and research in Sports Medicine.
Experience and skills that are not required but considered plus:
• Ability to speak Spanish.
• Experience in Professional Baseball.
• Strong computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Examples of past research or analysis (in any relevant discipline).
Physical Demands
• Ability to stand and/or walk for extended periods of time
• Ability to bend and stoop frequently
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
• Ability to work in inclement weather
• Ability to work on uneven ground
