Summary
This position is responsible for the day-to-day operations of concert and event tour merchandise sales worldwide. This includes preparing budgets and forecasts for potential new clients, including independent research. This position works closely with all LNM departments including Creative, A&R, Production, Online, and Finance, as well as day-to-day relations with management and artist in an A&R Role. Position requires a 24/7 work ethic due to the nature of the worldwide touring business and an extremely high level of organization and attention to details.
Responsibilities:
• Day-to-day contact with road manager in order to:
• Prepare budgets and forecast for potential tours and actual tours and order merchandise
• Coordinate shipment of said merchandise to the road
• Coordination of travel and transportation arrangements, negotiations with venues and handling of tour funds
• Establish working relationships with various artists' managers. Liaise between the artist management office and LNM A/R reps as well as the LNM road staff
• Assist in the creation of new product lines, act as a direct link between artists, their management and the Creative Services Department
• Manage and maintain Tour Department equipment, credit card machines, radios, etc
• Assist Accounting and Human Resources departments with any problems that develop related to the Tour Department/Road Merchandise Managers
• Manage / supervise Road Merchandise Managers
• Manage Tour and company inventory in the most efficient manner to maximize profitability for clients and LNM
• Manage, Negotiate, oversee all international touring with LNM companies in UK and Australia as well as directly with our foreign partners
• Collaborate, support manage product line and inventory with Web & A&R staff
Qualifications:
• Knowledge of current trends relating to pop culture and entertainment industries, as well as knowledge of current and past music artists
• Understand the logistics & aspects involved in managing tours
• Thorough understanding of travel and shipping in major cities around the globe
• Familiarity with multiple types of concert venues
• Previous music industry experience preferred
• Well organized, proactive, and ability to handle multiple tasks under strict deadlines
• Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail
• Ability to flourish in a dynamic, changing environment
• Ability to make timely decisions, anticipate problems and provide creative solutions
• Ability to travel and work and weekends
• Ability to lead and manage
• Ability to utilize computer software programs such as: Microsoft Office, Outlook, Excel, Filemaker Pro, FMS, FoxPro, MacOS Netscape Navigator, Lotus Notes, R&R Report Writer, WWW, Synchronics, TMS and social media
• Possess some form or Merchandise Road experience
• High level of written and verbal communication skills
• Able to effectively manage/prioritize various projects at the same time while also being able to complete them in a timely manner on an ongoing process
• Ability to multitask under high-pressure situations
• Ability to understand instructions quickly
• Ability to complete tasks on time within a deadline driven environment
• Ability to follow through on projects
• Be willing to learn and accept new responsibilities
• Detail oriented
• Must be dependable and reliable with a proven track record of excellent attendance
• Ability to interact professionally with vendors, clients and guests
• Team player
• Discretion and confidentiality is essential
