Summary
Legendary is seeking a Publicity Coordinator with a moderate level of administrative experience to work in-house on behalf of the company’s public relations activities in the areas of film, television and comics. The Coordinator will directly support the Vice President and Director of Publicity and work closely with the overall marketing team on all planned publicity, marketing, and special events activations. This position will assist the team leads on a wide range of marketing and administrative activities including building media lists, publicity asset management (unit stills, press releases, etc.), marketing research, talent and executive handling, creation and management of team schedules, talent/staff travel coordination, special events logistics, creation of new vendor and purchasing orders/accounting, as well as additional assignments as required. This position is extremely hands-on and is a major contributor to the overall film, television, and comics campaigns and branding strategies and may on occasion involve both domestic international travel.
Responsibilities
• Provide general Public Relations support to Publicity team leads.
• Scheduling meetings and conference calls and sitting in on said meetings/calls to keep accurate notes from each.
• Travel booking for staff as well as talent/entourages during press tours and special event activations out of town.
• Press tour logistics including budget tracking and invoice management.
• Management of publicity assets including press releases, stills, publicity photography, etc.
• Coordination of press breaks and reporting to key stakeholders.
• Management of Legendary press lists and media tracking.
• Talent and press coordination at premieres, press junkets, trade events, and other company events.
• Assist with the drafting and routing of communications materials.
Experience & Skills
• Bachelor’s Degree required
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in the media and entertainment industry preferably with a specific focus on publicity
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, including excellent presentation and facilitation skills
• Ability to handle various personalities, deadlines, and pressure well
• Global mindset, with interest in learning about publicity and media, not only domestically but also abroad
• Demonstrates a strong commitment to organizational success
• Highly professional demeanor and diplomatic skills. Ability to collaborate with professional colleagues at all levels of the organization
• Strong work ethic, entrepreneurial spirit, collaborative team player
• Ability to juggle multiple tasks on various projects concurrently and to formulate strategies for tackling projects in the most efficient manner
• A passion for pop culture and entertainment and general knowledge of press outlets, influencers, and social media platforms
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage both upwards and downwards
• High comfort level interacting with media professionals, external partners, inter-departmental colleagues, and key stakeholders
• Excellent attention to detail
• Commitment to maintaining strict confidentiality standards
• Candidate must be proficient in Microsoft Office. Knowledge of Photoshop is a plus
