**Responsibilities**
Essential Responsibilities: This position will be responsible for a wide variety of tasks necessary to support the firm's various clients. The firm specializes in production legal for film, television, and new media. The position will focus on entertainment related transactions and development and production legal matters for independent production companies, mini-major studios and major studio clients.
Responsibilities To Include, But Not Limited To:
• Draft and negotiate various rights acquisition and service contracts for individuals and companies involved in all television and feature-length motion picture capacities.
• Draft and negotiate time-sensitive production-related agreements, including, talent agreements (e.g., writer, director, producer, actor), production services agreements, location agreements, equipment rental agreements, lease agreements, etc. for feature-length projects.
• Analyze complicated chain of title matters to ensure underlying rights are accounted for and clear for use.
• Communicate and negotiate agreements with talent representation (e.g., agents, managers and lawyers) in an effective, timely and professional manner.
• Prepare, organize, and manage delivery of completed motion picture projects to distributor(s), including preparing credits memos, chain-of-title documentation, and other required paperwork as required by a distributor.
**Basic Qualifications**
Qualifications/Requirements:
• 1-4 years of legal experience at a motion picture or television company or entertainment law firm; will consider someone more junior on a case-by-case basis.
• JD and active member of the California Bar.
• Excellent negotiation, drafting and analytical skills.
• Strong work ethic.
• Able to multi-task and handle high-priority tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
**Eligibility Requirements**
• Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, together with outstanding word-processing abilities.
• Knowledge of physical production is also a distinct plus.
• Must be a self-starter with a very strong work ethic.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team is essential in this fast-paced environment.
**Work Location**
• Remote (i.e., work from home)
