POSITION: Local Sales Assistant
DEPARTMENT: Sales
REPORTS TO: Local Sales Manager
MAJOR PURPOSE: To provide support to the local staff on all sales platforms and to assist in the activities and organization of the sales managers and account executives.
• Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Assist Local Account Executives in their daily sales activities
• Administrative support and assistance to the Local Sales Manager and Director of Sales
• Manage local sales orders by inputting and revising into the traffic system
• Coordinate local sales orders with local Account Executives, Traffic Department, Accounting and other Departments as needed.
• Maintain sales files, pull daily log reports, and posts for clients as needed
• Resolve discrepancies, make goods and credit adjustments for orders as needed
• Assist in presentation building for client proposals
• Back up support for National Sales Manager, and National Sales Team
• Answer and direct incoming telephone calls
• Cover receptionist during scheduled breaks and as needed
• Additional duties as necessary
Education and Experience
• A.A Degree in Business, Marketing and/or equivalent related experience. B.S. Degree in Business preferred.
• 1-3 years successful experience in television or sales support
Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• Good command of the English language and excellent oral and written communication skills
• Ability to multitask and work with minimum supervision
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
• Excellent customer service, problem solving and analytical skills
• Detailed oriented and self-motivated
• Professional appearance and telephone manner
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
• Knowledgeable with Internet
• High level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations
Working Relationships
• Cooperation with staff both within KTXL and Tribune Corporate staff
• Works with clients and viewers over the phone on a regular basis
Supervisory Responsibility
• None

Physical Demands
• Required to sit, input data for long periods of time
• Heavy computer and phone usage

Work Environment
• Work performed primarily in an office environment
