KOFY-TV has an opening for a Staff Accountant/Accounts Payable. Responsibilities will include the preparation of journal entries, month-end close, the completion of monthly / quarterly financial statements and full cycle accounts payable. Will prepare year end 1099’s, quarterly sales tax usage, payroll tax and property tax filings. Will reconcile general ledger accounts, explain budget variances, forecast future expenses and manage fixed assets. Must have a working knowledge of accrual accounting. The candidate must be detail-oriented, a self-starter who takes the initiative to get things done, able to work in a fast-paced environment under tight deadlines, and works independently and as a team member.
Qualifications:
• Minimum 3 years experience with month end close and accounts payable processing.
• Computer Skills: MS Office (Word, Excel & Outlook), extensive working knowledge of excel required.
• Experience in television using Great Plains and FAS is a plus.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field.
• Time management and organizational skills a must.
