Job Overview
The Content Archivist functions as the expert for the department for archived media. This position will work with department management to create and support archive media systems in post-production. The Content Archivist is responsible for maintaining databases to manage all media. The Content Archivist will work with Producers, Associate Producers, Production Coordinators and Editors across various productions to organize and maintain all archived video assets. The ideal candidate excels working in a fast-paced environment with rigorous attention to detail and organization.
Primary Duties/Responsibilities:
• Handle a full range of support functions with media database systems and software. These functions include but are not limited to: ingesting, cataloguing, documentation and archiving.
• Responsible for ingesting media from productions and sending out dailies when necessary.
• Manage retrieval of all video assets.
• Organize video files for efficient access as well as organize production-related material.
• Work closely and collaboratively with colleagues to jointly meet company-wide goals.
• Handle daily media management tasks as directed by the supervisor, including: logging footage, editing, media organization, media requests, etc.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree (emphasis in film, television, media or related field preferred)
• Minimum of 1 year of post-production experience (A combination of education and experience will be considered)
• Proficient in Adobe creative suite and Office 365, and Google Docs
• Strong attention to detail, writing/ editing skills, interpersonal/ communication skills
• Ability to multi-task with accuracy and meet deadlines
• Understanding of media metadata
• Comfortable with both Mac and Windows platforms, Unix or CLI is a bonus.
• Knowledge of digital post-production processes
• Proficient in editing at least one NLE software application (Adobe Premiere or Resolve or AVID)
• Media Asset Management (MAM) software (Sony Ci, etc.)
• Video codecs
• AWS media workflows
• Wide range of physical media (DVD, BetaSP, Digibeta, XDCAM, etc...)
• File containers and codecs.
