Job Summary:
Responsibilities
include working with the Sr. Director, Digital & Social Media and Marketing Department to develop ideas and produce Royals digital video content to facilitate branch reach, engagement, and maximize revenue. Position responsible for executing compelling content across various social media platforms such as YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat, and royals.com.
Accountabilities:
• Work with internal creative team to strategize and develop engaging, behind-the-scenes, viral video content for Royals social platforms from concept to execution
• Lead day to day production of digital videos, consistently and proactively develop new content ideas for all mediums
• Collaborate with the Marketing Department on video production for upcoming promotions, giveaways, and events
• Collaborate with other departments such as Corporate Partnership, Royals Charities, and Community Relations that have a need for social video production
• Create necessary scripts and maintain digital video production/scheduling calendar
• Collaborate with social team on streaming live produced video (round table interviews, BP, press conferences, etc.)
• Collaborate with MLB Advanced Media as necessary
• Full understanding of each social media platform and its capabilities while staying on top of trends and advancements
• Understand and analyze key metrics to inform content decisions
• Supervise Digital Content Producers
• Research strategies of other MLB teams and other professional sports
• Other duties as necessary
Requirements: INCLUDE A LINK TO YOUR PRODUCTION REEL AND OTHER RELEVANT CLIPS WITH YOUR APPLICATION.
• Bachelor's degree in Production, Communications, or New Media
• Minimum 3 to 5 years professional work experience (sports/entertainment preferred) shooting, directing, and editing videos
• Expert knowledge of cinematic style digital cameras and lenses
• Expert knowledge of the following Adobe Creative Suite programs: After Effects, Premiere Pro, and Photoshop
• Expert knowledge of situational lighting (interviews, green screens, etc.)
• Experience with file-based production and post-production workflows
• Demonstrated ability to operate a camera and capture sound
• Demonstrated ability to conduct on-camera interviews
• Demonstrated ability to product content from start to finish under tight deadlines
• Proficient in existing social platforms and emerging social channels
• Experience managing others
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to multi-task
• Ability to collaborate on projects with multiple departments
• Exceptional written and oral communication skills
• Ability to stand for long periods of time, walk long distances, and lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
• Knowledge of baseball and the Kansas City Royals preferred
• Available to work holidays, evenings, and weekends in addition to the scheduled work week of Monday through Friday, 9:00AM to 5:00PM
• Ability to work in outside elements including heat, rain, cold, and snow
• Occasional travel may be necessary
• Spanish language skills preferred
