The VP of Linear Programming would be responsible for all aspects of developing, managing and optimizing Jukin's linear programming strategy across its brands and partners. This truly is a start-up within a start-up. It already has significant momentum and we are looking for an entrepreneurial, self-starter with real world linear experience to come in and take this business to the next level.
Office: Los Angeles
Reports to: Chief Growth Officer with a dotted line to the SVP of Programming & Publishing and SVP of Production
Relationships: The VP, Linear Programming manages a team of full time and contracted programming and production personnel and represents the team when interfacing with Analytics, Product, Engineering, Marketing, Sales, and Licensing, and collaborates with the Publishing Operations Manager, Production Manager, and Director of Digital Development on hitting department-wide goals.
Responsibilities:
-Responsible for the P&L of the business unit like a traditional General Manager.
-Responsible for developing the company's strategy and execution of a holistic approach to linear programming.
-Manage a small team and the day to day execution of company's linear and OTT offerings in order to achieve key KPI's such as total viewing minutes, session time, revenue per minute, library size, content refresh, available inventory, etc.
-Establish and manage relationships with key partners and clients (content, distribution and technology.)
-Work with brands to develop programming linear slate and license 3rd party content (as needed) that matches each brand's voice and long-term growth plan.
-Analyze data, key trends, etc to help grow our linear audience and monetization.
-Work closely with Head of Sales to create and execute sales packages as well as develop a programmatic offering against our linear and OTT inventory.
-Assist business development with expanding company's distribution of its linear channels to digital, mobile, and cable operators on a global basis.
Qualifications:
-A well-rounded business executive with programming skills and creative chops.
-Built, trained and managed teams of 5-10 people before.
-5-10 years of experience programming and managing linear/ OTT channels.
-Deep understanding of linear dayparting, refresh rates, tune in, etc.
-Demonstrated ability to grow audience and monetization across broadcast, OTT and 3rd party platforms.
-Polished presenter and communicator both internally and externally.
-Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a 'matrixed' organization.
