The Brand Manager is responsible for the creation, strategic planning, and execution of O&O content verticals. This position owns all aspects of the brand, working within the Programming and Production team as well as cross-departmental teams to drive growth and success. This leader will create the brand voice and develop a big picture vision for its expansion into new revenue streams and ventures -- including OTT syndication, linear, merchandise, events, and premium digital experiences, while maintaining day to day operational oversight of a high volume social video publishing business.
*Team: Publishing and Programming
*Reports to: SVP, Programming
*Relationships: The Brand Manager manages a 3 person programming team alongside cross-functional production, development, and publishing resources. The Brand Manager represents the brand when collaborating with Business Development, Analytics, Product, Engineering, Marketing, Sales, Licensing, Content Acquisitions, Originals, and any external partners, vendors, or clients.
Responsibilities:
-Create and lead programming strategy including content slate, creative development, audience growth, posting cadence, brand voice, and c-community engagement initiatives
-Collaborate with Sales to create and execute sponsorship opportunities without compromising brand voice and integrity
-Work with Business Development and Product to research and implement new revenue streams
-Supervise Audience Development and Content Creation Leads to ensure ongoing programming strategy aligns with business goals
-Track and optimize all monetization efforts
-Hire, train, and manage support staff
-Develop, negotiate, and manage cross-collab partnerships with external creators, brands, and influencers
-Manage execution of new platform distribution deals
-Coordinate with Rights Management to protect trademark and copyright
-Create offline presence for the brand at events, conferences and conventions
Qualifications:
-8+ years in digital video programming, business development, content creation, distribution, and management
-Strong track record of building and managing digital video brands
-Solid network from which to develop partnerships and recruit talent
-Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced start-up environment
-YouTube Certification in Audience Growth is a plus
