This is a Part Time Unpaid Internship
This is a hands-on, real-world program. Interns will be trained on current industry programs and strategies to learn a variety of sales and marketing functions. Included are client pitches, proposal creation, negotiations, and social media strategies. Students will use their creativity and training provided to participate in new and existing business generation with local businesses and ad agencies. Interested individuals should work well independently as well as in a team atmosphere and have interest in radio broadcasting.
Sales internship will involve one or all areas of interest:
On-air Sales • Aid in execution of client needs analysis (CNA)
• Help prepare proposal for client pitch
• Learn to negotiate sales deals
• Aid in selling on-air sponsorships, such as DJ endorsements
• Create and implement new sponsorships with programming to secure new client dollars
• Help Account Executive develop new direct relationships with potential clients
• Meet and work with major advertising agencies around the Tampa market
• Writing sales contracts, production orders and promotion recaps
• Learning to work with Tapscan and other rating programs
• Develop clerical skills in assisting between account executives and their clients
• Writing competitive reports
• General clerical skills to include filing, faxing, telephone, etc.
• Creative input with media kits
• Attending promotion & sales meetings
• Assist in various clerical skills such as appointment setting, filing, organizing, faxing.
Digital Sales
• Plan strategic internet advertising campaigns
• Coordinate with promotions texting platforms that will benefit a client campaign
• Help to design logo’s and banners for digital content
• Implement major nationwide campaigns such as AOL and Yahoo
• Help to manage Account Executive’s digital insertion orders
Events
• Help to implement major on-site events such as concerts
• Oversee station commitments to clients on-site with Account Executive
• Act as liaison between production, programming and promotions for client & AE
Interested individuals should work well independently as well as in a team atmosphere and have interest in radio broadcasting and sales.

Required Skills/ExperienceThis is a non-paid internship.You must receive college credit towards your degree from an accredited school.
This is a hands-on, real-world program. Interns will be trained on current industry programs and strategies to learn a variety of sales and marketing functions. Included are client pitches, proposal creation, negotiations, and social media strategies. Students will use their creativity and training provided to participate in new and existing business generation with local businesses and ad agencies. Interested individuals should work well independently as well as in a team atmosphere and have interest in radio broadcasting.
Students will be required to dress for success, exhibit professionalism, and be fully engaged in the program.
This program will require a minimum of 9-12 hours/week during the company's hours of operation (Mon-Fri, 8:30a-5:30p). Specific dates/times are flexible during hours of operation and based on the students schedule.
There may be opportunities to participate in weekend and/or evening marketing events as a learning point in the program.
