Sr Director- Distribution Bus. Strategy

POSITION SUMMARY

Provides advanced financial and legal strategy to outline comprehensive risk/opportunity deal analyses for Distribution team. Evaluates short and long term risk management by modeling analytical data and contractual implications. Develops and provides quantitative analyses to optimize A+E Networks value potential in negotiations. Provides broad oversight on financial and legal issues to increase the Distribution team's effectiveness with Finance and Legal. All activities designed to help ensure A+E continues to meet or exceed its financial objectives.

PRIMARY DUTIES

•Work with Finance to analyze and model deal financials:
Create and provide financial models and analyses to evaluate potential distribution deals (linear, on-demand, new media/OTT, etc.) using knowledge of A+E business, competitive data and industry information. Create and support recommendations for deal structure and negotiations. Evaluate deal proposals and ensure that deals enable A+E to meet or exceed established financial goals.

•Collaborate with Legal to analyze and structure contractual overview:
Work with Distribution Sales team and Legal to provide support (tracking tools, key metric overviews) for deal terms. Act as an information hub for contractual issues to increase the team's effectiveness with Legal.

•Liaise with Distribution Administration/Operations to track contractual triggers:
Track and monitor key contractual triggers across major deals. Provide information for strategic evaluations during affiliate negotiations. Work with Distribution Administration/Operations to develop reporting systems for compliance and potential risks. Coordinate with Finance, Legal and Distribution Administration/Operations on format of data.

•Work with Finance, Distribution Business Development and Distribution Analytics to analyze new business opportunities:
Provide analysis on new business initiatives and impact on over-arching business models. Use financial modeling tools and a keen understanding of A+E's strategic objectives to analyze new business opportunities. Contribute to special projects on an on-going basis.

•Research:
Work with and support Analytics team to track new developments in content distribution landscape. Coordinate with Analytics team to develop and maintain comprehensive resource of industry projections and data. Partner with Analytics team to inform Distribution department on emerging industry trends and their potential impact on negotiations

Required Education:
MBA or similar degree. Working knowledge of financial analysis tools
7+ years in finance ,management consulting or investment banking experience with some entertainment industry experience. Excellent communication, analytical and presentation skills. Ability to work across departments as part or leader of teams on multi-departmental projects. JD or legal background. Working knowledge of distribution deal structures. Applicable experience in media or cable television
