Writer, Scripted Comedy

Break Media is seeking a Scripted Comedy Writer - with a focus on self-contained short form content, and standalone episodes. The ideal candidate should be an organized, comedy writer with a strong interest in Film/TV/Internet - who will lead scripting original comedic programming for our various comedy channels as well as specific branded opportunities.

Ideal candidate has previous comedy writing experience, and fully understands short form content and the Internet. Candidates need to be highly collaborative, but also capable of scripting content solo when necessary.

Key Responsibilities:

• Responsible for writing content on our ScreenJunkies channel conceptualizing upcoming show topics, scripting out our popular Honest Trailers, writing bumpers and bits for our ScreenJunkies Show, as well as additional Film/TV oriented programming
• Responsible for conceptualizing and writing scripts for other original comedic programming including a new version of our popular series FOR THE WIN - which offers creative, comedic, edgy 'How To's' for topics men really care about such as ''How to Look Busy at Work''
• Lead brainstorm sessions in our writer's room to fully vet out ideas - and figure out the most sharable versions possible
• Help discover, work with and organize other freelance writers, when needed

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree required
• 3-5 years experience writing successful original comedic content - please share links/credits
• Strong interest in comedy, pop culture and the internet in general
• Experience with writing, editing, and publishing of content online
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Deadline driven and results oriented
