Junior Art Director

Stealth mode start-up, located in Marina Del Rey is looking for a fulltime, Junior Art Director who wants to be part of an emerging interactive & entertainment market. We're creating products that combine traditional books and nontraditional interactive games. Proximity to LA is required.

Responsibilities
Junior Art Director to concept and design print and digital assets to support the Bento Box Interactive Brand. We're looking for someone with the desire to be a part of something big, the training and foundation to create outstanding work daily, a sophisticated aesthetic sense, and the interest to collaborate and succeed in a dynamic, fast paced environment.

Responsibilities:
• In a ''hands on'' role, oversee and produce artwork that visually communicates outlined objectives
• Interprets strategy to determine direction for visually developing layouts
• Supervise and direct graphic designers to ensure desired look, feel, style are on target
• Participate in brainstorming sessions by contributing/generating ideas/concepts to meet client's objectives, strategies and needs.
• Assist in with creation of presentations for existing and new client presentations
• Ensure that graphically all legal aspects (if applicable) are covered (Trademarks, branding, copyright, etc.)
• Provide creative project recaps for all team members and clients on a project-by-project basis.
• Ensures management team is advised on all stages of project progress
• Works well with vendor partners (printers, photographers, illustrators, freelancers, etc.) as needed
• Designs creative materials according to instruction provided by CD
• Collaborates with CD on design elements and outside sources (e.g. paper, talent, etc.)
• Alerts CD and Producer if deadlines cannot be met
• Possesses a working knowledge of design technologies and a desire for continuing education
• Makes text corrections to creative materials (as requested)
• Retouches creative materials (as necessary)
• Proficient skills with the Adobe Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.)
• A strong conceptual portfolio
• Background working in animation and/or games The Jr. AD reports directly to the AD or Creative Director (CD)

Qualifications
• Must have 2-3 years experience as an Artist/Jr. Art Director
• Bachelor degree Art, Animation, or related field..
• Ability to communicate effectively with a wide variety of personalities, both written and verbal.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft suite software of Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook.
• Must be able to work efficiently and in a fast paced environment.
• Flexibility to move between tasks.
• Excited about the interactive/gaming space.
