Staff Accountant

Image Entertainment, Inc. is a leading independent licensee, producer and distributor of home entertainment programming in North America, with over 3,500 exclusive titles in our library to distribute in home entertainment.

We are recruiting a Staff Accountant for our Chatsworth, CA office to assist with the month end processes related to General Accounting close functions, including accruals, account reconciliations, financial analysis and reporting. Assist with the non-distribution revenue process, including royalty statements and billings.

Prepare monthly/quarterly journal entries, account reconciliations and analyze various G/L accounts.
Monthly and quarterly reporting and roll-forwards of accounts balances.
Assist with review of non-distribution revenue contracts, facilitate timely billing of inbound royalty statements, customer communication/follow-up, and participate in the monthly AR Aging review and on-going collection efforts.
Assist with preparation for bank, licensor and financial statement audits, and with process documentation for SOX compliance.
Interaction with various departments to insure accuracy of accounts and reporting that this position is responsible for.
Ad hoc requests.

Job Requirements:

Bachelor's degree with major in Accounting required.
CPA/audit experience a plus.
Intermediate to strong systems and Excel skills required.
Previous experience with General Ledger accounting and month end close responsibilities required.
Good working knowledge of General Accepted Accounting Principles and internal control procedures.
Prior experience with Inventory a plus.
Ability to handle multiple priorities, meet tight deadlines and work in a very fast paced environment.
Must be a self-starter who takes the initiative to achieve departmental goals and is able to communicate effectively to keep management apprised.
Team player with a positive, solution oriented approach.
Ability to deal in a highly professional manner with all levels of personnel, both internal and external to the organization, possessing solid verbal and written communication skills.
Flexible to work extended hours as needed to meet deadlines.
Minimum 2-3 years business related experience.
