Essential Functions:
The Human Resources Manager in ID's Los Angeles office will responsible for all aspects of bi-coastal human resource functions including; recruiting, employee relations, wage and salary administration, employee programs, benefit administration, regulatory compliance, and training.
Specific responsibilities are:
• Translate business strategy into HR strategy.
• Direct administrative aspect of recruiting, staffing and retention activities.
• Manage compensation and benefits administration as well as overseeing bi-weekly payroll processing.
• Provide employee onboarding, development, needs assessment and ongoing employee relations.
• Work with finance department on organizational department planning.
• Maintain direct interface with CEO and President of ID on all HR matters.
• Manage employment and compliance to regulatory concerns regarding employees.
• Guide leadership on performance management and improvement systems. Participate in counseling and/or termination proceedings.
• Conduct research into human resources programs and activities, and recommend changes or innovations when desirable.
• Ensure HR keeps employees informed of all changes in human resources policies.
• Assist in the solutions and appropriate adjustments to employee challenges received from management and employees
• Set up and maintain general control methods, records, and files as required for effective human resources functions.
• Implement and maintain employee safety, welfare, wellness and health programs.
• Drive organizational initiatives such as talent development, employee engagement, learning and development.
• Recruit interns each semester for LA & NY offices, as well as update and manage the internship program.
Basic Qualifications • Minimum three years of experience in HR management, preferably in an agency (PR, Advertising, Talent or Personal Management) environment.
• 7-9 years of HR Generalist experience of increasing scope and responsibility.
• Working knowledge of state and federal wage and hour laws essential.
• Requires excellent oral, interpersonal and written communication skills with a proven ability of building good relationships with people across an organization.
• Familiarity with human resources information systems and applications, and demonstrated proficiency in computer software programs, especially Microsoft Office, specifically Excel.
• Ability to synthesize information from multiple sources, determine issues and objectives, and develop strategies to address needs.
• Working knowledge of all human resource functional areas including legal aspects, employee relations, recruiting, compensation and benefit administration, training and development.
• Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
• Social media savvy.
Preferred Qualifications • Bachelor's degree in human resources or related fields.
• PHR certification a plus.
• Master's degree preferred.
Salary will be commensurate with experience.
