SUMMARY OF POSITION
Warner Bros. Worldwide Television Marketing is seeking a Director to join the Social Media Marketing team. The position will:
•Manage and lead a team of administrators in developing and executing digital publicity campaign strategies, social media communication plans, timelines and fan outreach for select series and projects.
•Develop strategies that respond to market trends, emerging platforms and new apps to publicize our shows directly to fans and allow for greater interaction and awareness through these platforms.
•Establish and manage department operations timelines, project distribution and systems to keep the department running smoothly as well as keeping all projects on time and well staffed.
•Liaison with Director of Publicity Events and Special Projects on consumer facing Social Media PR stunts and campaigns in support of WBTV product.
•Create, develop and manage content for the Media To Go website including maintaining a consistent look and feel throughout the site and external communications about the site.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop strategies alongside TV publicity to allow the company to market our shows to consumers taking advantage of fan sites, blogs, social media platforms (Facebook Twitter, GetGlue, Pinterest, Tumblr and more).
Lead social media relations program, working in tandem with publicity, to pitch and motivate bloggers, Pinterest users, etc, to feature products through content, news, photos, videos, exclusives, promotions.
Oversee a group of administrators who will act as digital publicists, interacting with smaller news sites and fan sites.
Help develop new processes that streamline online outreach and measurement of impact.
Liaison with Publicity on consumer facing Social Media PR Stunts and campaigns in support of WBTV, WHTV and WBA product.
Create, develop and manage content for the Media To Go website (requires working with content management software).
Coordinate web projects across departments.
Maintain a consistent look and feel throughout the site and external communications about the site.
Copyedit and proofread all web content uploaded to the site.
Prepare 'sales' materials/pitches for the WB Word network of bloggers to potential clients.
Assign and manage team member to oversee campaigns and ensure that all campaign management deliverables are being met per the campaign procedure docs.
Working with a cross-departmental team (publicity and audience development) to maintain and develop the master content calendar for the site.
Serve as an affiliate relations executive with our network of bloggers and fan sites to truly harness their efforts in a concerted and effective way.
Manage client communications and needs for all campaigns.
Attend both internal and external client meetings as needed.
Coordinate necessary approvals for all campaign elements.
Coordinate client deliverables with team member eg campaign projection documents, legal contracts, campaign optimization reports and recaps.
Other job-related duties and/or projects assigned.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent technical training required.
Minimum 6 years experience on a news website and/or PR Director role specifically overseeing a team and working on creative digital marketing campaigns for entertainment or active social media clients.
Advertising Agency experience (in digital media) a plus.
Advanced knowledge of HTML and experience with popular content management systems.
Basic Adobe Photoshop skills.
Active in educating self on web trends, entertainment blogs specific to TV and Entertainment as well as emerging social media platforms.
Currently blogs or understands blogging and participates in social networks and online communities, has an understanding of web TV, podcasting, wikis and social networking sites, and can translate that knowledge in to recommendations for the Company.
Understand the importance of ongoing monitoring and response speed in social networks.
Must be comfortable teaching social media to others. (Some internal evangelizing will be required.)
Knowledge and hands on experience managing and downloading from FTP sites.
Exceptional communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills - both verbal and written.
Independent thinker and task master.
Currently has a LinkedIn profile, a Twitter account, a Facebook page, and should have his or her own blog already.
An insistence on honesty, transparency and integrity in work ethic.
Comfortable with content creation.
Can work w/ the PR Team to develop overall communications strategies and rapid response plans.
Some community management experience, not just a blog with comments, but forums, message boards or small social networks.
Strong attention to detail.
Excellent organizational skills.
Ability to balance, multi-task and prioritize requests and still meet deadlines.
Keen interest in digital marketing.
Must be able to consistently come into work early and/or stay late.
Must be able to travel and excel in working live events or events not in a traditional office environment.
Must be able to work additional hours as requested.
Must be able to maintain a positive disposition in a fast-paced environment and during demanding times.
Must be detail-oriented.
Must have good judgment.
Must be able and willing to take initiative and to problem solve as appropriate within the scope of responsibilities of this position.
