Packaging Manager

We currently have an opening for a Packaging Manager. This position is located in Burbank, California.

Position Overview

The Manager of Packaging and Delivery will manage metadata operators, assigning and prioritizing jobs on a daily basis.

Primary Responsibilities

- Work with new distributors to document and implement their metadata specifications within metadata management system.

- Document all packaging workflows and train staff accordingly.

- Work with development team to implement new customers and distributors as needed.

- Track and record any changes to existing metadata standards within management system.

- Works with other groups within operations to handle high priority deadlines and manage problems and concerns accordingly.

- Troubleshooting failed submissions of deliverable files, especially metadata, working with vendors and clients to resolve issues.

- Act as project manager to track and prioritize bugs and feature enhancements within metadata management system.

- Must effectively analyze information coming from multiple sources and communicate it in a concise manner to resolve issues and concerns as they arise.

- Be consistent with company practices; enforce data management procedures to ensure all logistics consumers can access accurate and timely information on element status, location and history.

- Other duties and projects as assigned.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess the following knowledge, experience, and skill-set:

- Experience managing a team.

- Experience working with XML files for distribution; understanding wildcard characters, file/data validation and DTDs (Document Type Definitions).

- Understanding of UTF and ISO standards and effects within XMLs based on regions.

- Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy is a must.

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

- Superior ability to communicate complex concepts, ideas and instructions in a clear and logical manner.

- Ability to interface and create positive relationships with a large range of people including customers, distributors, executives and other internal stakeholders.

- Strong familiarity with Windows environment and Microsoft Office. Familiarity with UNIX and OSX is a plus.

- Previous working experience with metadata standards and data transformation.

- Familiarity with different media files and post-production processes.
