This is a Part Time Job
Small Independent Production company has one opening for a part-time accounting-strong individual to work on the budgeting aspects of our ongoing film projects! Position starts immediately and through end of current film project, which is likely the end of 2012, maybe even until February 2013. MUST know Quickbooks Online and Quicken very well and MUST know MS Office applications like Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc. Any film or accounting experience or training would be a huge plus. 4 hours a day at 5 days a week would be ideal but we can be flexible (e.g., 3 days per week, 20 hrs per week, etc). We prefer someone who already has production accounting experience, but is not a must. The right candidate is self motivated, detailed orientated, works well independently and has excellent communication skills. Please send resume AND cover letter.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Team member will help us coordinate with our main film accountant in Europe (they speak/write English.)
- Team member will help us create and report in LA our weekly cash flow needs for our US company in order to provide them to our accountant in Europe, so they can be incorporated into their overall accounting of the project.
- Team member will help in preparing and requesting purchase orders for our needs in LA, to be coordinated with European office.
- Team member will help us reconcile all money spent on a weekly basis, whether by check, wire or on credit cards (and review invoices and receipts.)
- Team member will create our LA weekly cost reports, again, to be integrated in the weekly cost report of the overall picture.
- Team member will check purchases orders and budgeted expenses against checks to be paid before final payment is made by the principals.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Prior experience in the budgeting/planning in the Entertainment/Film Industry industry is a huge plus. This would include knowledge of Entertainment Partners Software, like MovieMagic Budgeting and Scheduling.
- Must know Excel, Word, Outlook and Quicken/Quickbooks very well.
- Must be proficient w/ using Adobe Acrobat Professional 6.0 or higher.
- Will likely have to familiarize themselves with the accounting program they are using in Europe.
- Follows through on responsibilities
- Prepares clear and complete work papers
- Experience with file organization, processing cash receipts, vendor invoices, payroll taxes, quarterly returns, and bank reconciliation process with a normal degree of supervision
- Excellent phone and communication skills
- Able to meet multiple deadlines and multi-task continuously.
- Fluency in Spanish or German are a plus.
