Director, Online Creative - E! & G4 Networks
JOB PURPOSE:
To oversee the day-to-day operations of the Online creative, online production and Photo team for Eonline com and G4TV com. To manage all job requests with internal clients as well as any outside vendors to ensure projects are on strategy, are effective and on time.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsibilities may include:
• Solely responsible for developing project schedules/timelines
• Improve the quality of work and efficiency of the department by establishing process systems and process organization
• Digest, understand and collect all assets related to creative requests before handing off to designers
• Work closely with the VP, Creative Director and Online Creative staff in order to maintain brand consistency
and a high level of advertising and design across web and mobile mediums
• Make sure projects are delivered on time, on strategy and on budget
• Oversees trafficking and approvals for all materials produced by Online Creative including but not limited to:show packages,
• Microsites, banners, photo requests, icons, email signatures, new media, site design and partner graphics
• Must be able to have creative dialogue and input with clients on projects to bring constructive feedback to designers
• Participate in brand strategy meetings and show launch creative team brainstorms
• Liaison with International group for Eonline requests around the world
• Manages yearly freelance production budget for Online Creative (i.e. design in house, design out of house, illustration and copywriting services)
• Manages freelance schedules and predicts times of need
• Creates relationships with outside vendors and freelancers while overseeing deliverables and timetables
• Maintain a thorough understanding of the creative and technical process
• Responsible for internal work collection from all designers for timely archive
• Attend weekly meetings with Online Creative group, marketing group, Online Editorial group and Information Architecture group
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
• Minimum 3 years in web design department with client experience (agency or in-house)
• Thorough knowledge of Excel, Word, Safari, Firefox,Quicktime Pro, Fip 4 Mac and Toast
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:
• Interested candidates must submit a resume/CV online to be considered
• Must be willing to take and submit to a background investigation
• Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States
• Must be covered by Solutions,NBCU’s Alternative Dispute Resolution Program
DESIRED CHARACTERISTICS:
• Passing knowledge of Flash, HTML, CS5 Photoshop, Illustrator, ActionScript, Video Lan Client, Dreamweaver,Screentime, AfterEffects, Audacity and Soundbooth
• The ability to check files before releasing to outside vendors
• Strong attention to detail
• Good with numbers and ability to track financials
• Creative, forward-thinking individual with strong knowledge of the design/production process and the ability to problem solve
• Must have excellent written and oral communication skills in order to effectively interact with all internal employees and vendors
• Must be highly self-motivated with strong organizational skills and the ability to thrive independently in a flexible, fast-paced, deadline driven team environment
• Must be a team player and willing to collaborate within online, within marketing and within E! and G4
• Must be able to work a regular work week with late nights and weekends when necessary
• Knowledge of the entertainment industry and pop culture a must
• Must have the ability to watch television outside the office. Be familiar with the programming of E! and G4, as well as our competitors
